You've answered your own question. Deck out your road bike with straight bars, with ends if you like. You'll be able to include your dropped bar brake levers too, and give your neck a permanent rest.
I had this a few years back, and had to adjust the handlebar height and straighten up my back.
Its great for hill climbing out o the saddle.
I used to be an organist, and because of short sight, my neck was craned forward to see the music. Same problem. . .
I'm fine now. Happy days!
