Cross Country Pics Day 5

What an amazing day. 113 miles from Burns to Vale, Or. The sun was just coming up as I was starting. The sun was a bright red ball due to the smoke from the Boise wild fires. Picture just doesn't show it that well. I've heard the smoke is pretty heavy in Boise.

More hills today which was actually nice. Longest climb was 3+ miles. I got a great nights sleep and felt fresh, versus the 3 hours the night before!

Flatted at 20 miles, probably from crossing rumble strips. The first tube blew out on the back side of the stem, thinking CO2 caused it. 2nd tube worked fine.

Incredible views all day. Impossible to describe the variety and beauty.

Very lucky to have My wife there to provide support. I'm amazed at folks who do it solo.

4 of us did an unsupported ride in 1990 with a similar start to yours. We started in Florence as well. We stayed a night in Vale, wiping out a small salad bar in the restaurant at a hotel.
Thanks again for the pics, and the memories.
