It is a great saddle if it fits.

Noseless saddle: the last step before throwing in the towel and getting a recumbent. Even noselessness won't necessarily make it comfortable. That design will cut into the back of your thighs. It would probably work for a crank-forward bike, though.

No thank you -- I'll keep my Brooks Pros and my Terry Liberator.

Thanks, that's the sort of info I need. I tried fitting a wide spring saddle which is OK but still not doing it for me. What about one of these.

Nice but soooooo costly.

BobbyG 10-22-16 02:10 PM

You will have to try it out. Perhaps there is a local bike shop near you that carries this or something similar that you can try. I agree that it may cut into your thighs, but everybody is built differently. What issues are you having with your current saddle and what kind and or shape is it?

GeneO 10-22-16 05:36 PM

No. IDK how you would pedal with any comfort or any distance on that.

So how about this one?

The good noseless saddles which I know of do not have those depressions in them. They're just flat or a little rounded like a normal saddle. I would think that the depressions would increase the amount of tissue with blood cut off from sitting and thus make the saddle less comfortable. Plus it's extremely unlikely that the depressions would be the exact distance apart as one's sit bones. Plus mostly one does not actually sit on the ichial tuberosities but rather on the bones of the pelvic arch. So no, I don't think it would be comfortable.

Yes I am beginning to find that out and that PL1.1 looks superb the bike it is going on is only a shopping bike and even though I think there is no price you can put on health it would be well out of my budget.:cry:

So much choice and I have so little personal experience.

fietsbob 10-23-16 02:01 PM

NY times had a Article a couple years ago helped sell the one in the LBS Inventory , it did not get restocked ..

In reality the nose of the saddle is part of the steering , weight shifting. without sliding off sideways

The only way you will get personal experience about a saddle, is not asking Others Opinions ,

That's more a Popularity question,

It's sitting on it yourself.. risk free? .. only return shipping and maybe a restocking fee if stated so.
