Great news Retro! Some of my good cycling friends have had cycling accidents and it's interesting how their reactions have varied. I'm sure it's been a real challenge for you but it's great to hear you're over the top of the climb.

I've got to put the Katy Trail on my list of To Do's. Plus it will give me a good excuse to get a gravel bike that can handle panniers.

I've done many stupid things when I was younger. These days I'm quite cautious knowing there is a new crop of younger people who have taken my place at the stupid end of the scale. The middle ground is somewhere between foolhardy and overly cautious. A certain amount of anxiety serves to maintain alertness. The other end of the scale is oblivious to potential problems. Today for example, during a club ride, our route was for, a relatively short distance, on a narrow road with no shoulder. Approaching roll in the highway that obscured visibility ahead and once with a turn and approaching auto I was able to see, I rode the bike just off the highway into a homeowners driveway. Except for those two moments, it was an awesome day for a ride.

Good for you! Please tell us those nasty, useless pits no long live to menace others. And that you now possess everything their owners had or ever will have.

I'll second that. I consider myself a dog lover, but I think the whole pit bull breed should be outlawed and exterminated.
