This is true. I can vouch for my workplace. A lot of outbound stuff gets NATted from one IP address. You can check the IP that others see you as with this tool:

If the OP was really, truly determined to never return here, he would have done something to trigger a perma-ban. A temporary ban is nothing... even I have had one of those. But a perma-ban means he would never be able to post under that username again.

I suspect he will be back. The door is always open without a perma-ban.
