I understand what you're saying, but personally, I'd rather go quietly in my sleep.

Not many people get the gift of a peaceful death.

I pray for it.

Well, I'd like to go at the same time as my W does, just after *TMI*. If I can't do that, a massive heart attack while riding no earlier than, say, 86 or so, with no warning, sounds pretty good to me.

I think most people want to go in their sleep. This isn't a reflection of my personality, or meant to be morbid to say the least, but a quick bullet to the head would be a second choice for me. Anything to end it suddenly without pain. Regardless, when I go-i'm going home to meet my maker.

Anywhere but the ICU of some hospital would be good for me. Maybe something epic like going over a cliff in Moab or getting mauled by a grizzly in the Yukon. Truly ideal would be a heart attack during a threesome, I suppose. I guess you don't really get to choose the how or when though, so I'm concentrating on having fun in the meantime.

I'd be hard pressed to do 10 miles in under 30 minutes now, and I'm 63. So a salute to this gent for doing it (or coming close) at 91. Too bad it wasn't a closed course.

Bikes: Several bikes, Road, Mountain, Commute, etc.

It's all personal opinion, of course, but my opinion is that dying while racing (esp. at that age) would be wonderful way to go!

That's one of the problems with time-trialling in the UK, very rarely on closed courses.

Not if you commit suicide. Taking a human life is taking a human life be it your own or some one else's.

Honestly, I wasn't thinking suicide. I was thinking more of being the victim of a criminal act, or otherwise. Regardless, your point is valid and accurate.

We lost an 80+ yr. old rider here. He was doing a TT and had his head down. Hit the back of a parked truck at speed.
