The Joys Of Busting Rocks

I can’t ride my bikes yet due to a foot operation in late August but I can sure run my tractor 8 hours a day moving large piles of rocks and other manual labor chores. The first few weeks I was sore and beat up but I’m breaking back into physical activity. Being still for months drove me made me weak and soft and 15 pounds heavier. Manual labor is exercise and I need to get the nasty work done in winter and we really don’t have winter here. Void of wasps, scorpions and mosquitoes and other insects that sting. I’m just happy to be active again.

When I finally was able to ride again after a year it was an unforgettably joyus experience. You will not be disappointed. Stay strong!

Bikes: Two wheels; multiple gears

Hard to believe you can enjoy chores so much; I understand completely. Getting out and working hard after not being able to is something that truly feels invigorating.

A buddy of mine that does much rock work on his property also saves it for winter to avoid the rattlesnakes and copperheads.

Bikes: Fuji, Focus,Felt. 20 more letters to go.

I've been accused of breaking stones. Never thought of it as exercise, though the other people seemed to get exercised

Being immobile really sucks, glad to hear you're moving again. Keep up that good recovery.

Fixin to try to ride a bike very soon to see how it goes hopefully round and round I will ride close to home in case my foot says no and I’m not 10-15 miles away. I’m looking forward to being back in the bicycling game.
