Find joy in the journey
My older brother started riding a few years ago. He rides nearly every day. But, he goes out and hammers as fast as he can for an hour so he can get it over with and move on to something else. I guess it works for him, but that is so contrary to my approach to biking. I suppose I am fortunate in that I actually enjoy the act of riding a bike! |

Totally agree, I'm a photo guy, need to capture the moment!

Eff it. I'm going anyway.

There are some great thoughts here. "Is my bike OK?" kinda sums things up as well.

I don't know ... I'm still looking for challenges. :)
Probably not a challenge for you, but ... I think the distance will be fine for me by that time, but I will need to work on the climbing. |

True!!!
But I'm sort of thinking of nice things ... like a 100 km ride in the countryside. :) |

I’ve thought about driving up and doing Dairyland Dare (I think that’s the name) one day but we’ll see.....Riding around where I live was great prep for my XC trip as the average climbing per day was probably half what I normally do. But there were several days with a good bit of climbing. Oregon, Yellowstone and NY..... |
