Cycle NC Day 3
Cycle NC Day 3, 70 miles from Spencer to Siler City. I guess technically we crossed two major lakes.
I rode with Doug and Rick all day. There’s nothing like riding with skilled riders who ride the same pace and effort. Really nice guys too. We’re already making plans to ride together tomorrow.
It’s getting warmer and will continue to get warmer the next couple days. I really don’t need a sleeping bag!!
Tomorrow we head further east to Clayton!

Crossing High Rock Lake

After a cherry sno cone at the last rest stop

Riding selfie behind Doug and Rick

Doug after the Tiger Blood

Crossing Badin Lake below the High Rock dam.

Bubba!!

Doug pulling and Rick on his wheel.

Ah, the modern age: all those chargers plugged in..... A number of locals did the across NC tour some years back when it rained essentially every day, lots of bail outs on that tour.
It is one thing to ride 50-70 miles in 72-95F temps, another to huddle in a tent at 75-80F temps at night after spending the rest of the off bike day at 90+
temps, even in the shade. I see Bubba has a half gallon rehydration canister next to him.
