Lennard Zinn, who writes for VeloNews, has bike maintenance books. Check a Barnes & Noble or Borders, etc. Also, some bike shops do training classes or bring in a rep from Park Tool USA (a major bike tool company) to do a training session.

Sheldon Browns online repair articles are pretty good too. Go forward without fear. It's not that tough, and your LBS can bail you out of any serious screw ups. bk

"Bicycling Magazine's Complete Guide to Bicycle Maintenance and Repair for Road and Mountain Bikes" by Jim Langley is a pretty good book. Used, they go for about $5 on Amazon or Half.com.

+1 on the Sheldon Brown suggestion.

There's a lot of good info at https://www.bikewebsite.com/index.htm too.

It ain't hard!
