Take a careful look at Pope John Paul's bike as private citizen Karol Woytila, and his upgraded bike as a 50+ Pope. This is what it takes to earn the right to ride a white bike...

That said, I'd be remiss not to give a shout-out to DG's newest venture, a "festive" and "vivacious" group of aeronautical stunt flyers...who also double as a boy-band for the evening's entertainment!!!

Unseasonably warm and, for those of us that enjoy Autumn, trying our patience. I thought we were done riding in the heat this year. Sigh.

We had record breaking temperatures here today. It was 89F.....where is fall weather?

This time of year I'm usually pulling out the arm warmers, full finger gloves and knickers for morning rides. This morning it was shorts, sleeveless jersey and sandals.

Since no one has posted on this thread for over two days, I thought I'd just say how much I enjoy this forum, and the people in it...

No, they're Handi-Wipes! With a white bike, you have to clean it every 27 minutes if you aren't riding, every 8 minutes if you are...

Floyd 10-13-07 12:43 PM

A clean bike is the sign of a warped mind...

No...that's what DG uses to scoop up co-eds on the Coronado bike path.

I am a keen gardener- almost as keen as I am on cycling but I have two offspring- Both recently bought their first house and both wanting Dad to advise on the garden. One I have put off till next year but the other one decided to Go it alone. Ripped up the garden with a mini digger to clear out the rubbish.(And compact the Clay soil that is now so compacted- it is going to take a few Tractors and ploughs to get right) I have not had a ride today- Had to go round to my daughters house and Do the technical job of Shifting tons to soil to make a lawn for her. I feel more shattered than I have ever been on a bike ride.

Any one know of a painless way of disabling my daughter and Fiance- so I can get back to riding again? I reckon I have another 4 weekends work to correct what they accomplished in 2 hours.

Get a clipboard. Your tasks should strictly be limited to supervision. Heavy lifting is for the younguns.

Excellent advice. Clipboard, sleeves rolled up, walking around and making ominous mmmm...noises. Supervise, my friend!

To Lucy!

But which Lucy? Ricardo Lucy? Peanuts Lucy? In the Sky with Diamonds Lucy? The Hominid Lucy?

And why did Benny Hill think this had anything whatsoever to do with cycling? Just because he once owned a white bike, that makes him relevant to the cycling community? This whole thing is a waste of our time!!!
