On the Bike Across Kansas, at one point I was going up a hill and when I reached the top to to go down I had to down-shift to go down hill because of the wind. Yes, wind is sometimes better than hills. ... ... ... ... ...peace

I agree with Stone's comment. One day of wind is a challenge, but after a full week of headwinds, my body is tired and my mind is tired. Getting ready to hit it again today with 20-30 mph and my bike is loaded down with two panniers. It will be a long slow day, except for the downwind bits. I find myself being creative with my routing. Today's wind is from the NW so I will ride the route that has the best protection from those winds.

During this time of year it's usually near freezing in the morning and close to 60F on the ride home. Today it was 45F, windy, cloudy, and sprinkling in the morning and the same on the way home. The crosswind that hit me at my [normally] fastest descent nearly pretzelled my front wheel.
