I think you should just shave some cool designs instead doing the full monty thing. Maybe your Avatar, or some neat bike thing. Might start a trend.

The good news is, it's a "serious cyclist" tribal ritual, and many women find it a turn on (YMMV).
+1

Don't use a cheap disposable razor. Use a Mach3 or better. I've been shaving my legs since 2001 and the disposables cut more skin than hair.

If you read through the Road Cycling forum you'll see the top 5 (or 6 or 7 or .....) reasons for shaving.
Me -- I do it for the looks, feel, massage benefits, sunscreen and leg hair don't mix, and to show off those awesome muscles.

Let's be honest. Don't you think leg hair is repulsive?

For those who DON'T shave - you're REQUIRED to wear this jersey.

Yeah...if he's hairy enough BluesDawg could go with an image of "Dumb*ss Don" Imus on his calf. That would be worth posting a pic.

I decided to listen to Beverly and other wise souls. I'll get some gel and a women's specifc razor and get 'er done tonight. I did dream last night that my back had sprouted a massive growth of fur. Or maybe it wasn't a dream.

It just might be that body hair is a little like a weed. If you get rid of it in one place, it's just going to appear somewhere else.

Can explain again why you are doing this? It will make you faster? You will heal easier if you get an ouchie on your leg? You will look better in your bike shorts?

make sure you hack off most of the hair first with an electric trimmer. get in the dry tub and make a big pile and then throw it out. then use a razor to get off what's left while taking a shower. i don't use women's razors, i use cheapo disposals and a little soap and i don't get hacked up. lotion up after.

Resist all temptations or suggestions for a bikini wax to go along with your shaved legs.

If selective shaving of one part of the body woud stimulate hair growth somewhere else, for instance, on the top of a man's head, this thread would become extremely valuable.

I like to ride with the big dogs, and I race some too. In that venue, it's generally (though not universally) considered a "tribal ritual"...if you want to be part of the tribe, you shave.

I also consider it a "rite of spring" - I shave after my first 1000 miles of the year, or after the first day of spring, whichever comes first.

Finally, it's become part of my "cyclist" persona...we're already considered somewhat odd because we're skinny and wear colorful lycra while we play in traffic. So shaving's just another piece of the persona...one that I'm comfortable with (plus, fit women dig it - I may have mentioned that above ).

The real question is, why can shaving be so disappointing? Because shaving literally slices off the ends of your leg hair, it can leave a sharp edge behind. When those cut edges emerge, you can feel that rough, stubbly sensation as you run your hands over your skin. Not to mention how it feels to someone else! And, no matter how many blades you have, the stubble will always emerge. Add the possibility of nicks, cuts and razor bumps to the equation - Ouch! That's why REAL MEN use Nair https://www.naircare.com/

Just go to a salon and have them wax it off.Go for the toe nail polishing, its usually free with the hair removal.Any questions, just tell them you have a leading role in a local production of,"La Cage au Follies."
