I was about an inch from KOP with the Brooks. I tried the Liberator, but it was to wide and cushy. So far so go, I'll know more tomorrow. |

But in the last week I took test rides on 4 road bikes, two of them using saddles that get very good reviews in the on-line forums. I found three of them to be astoundingly uncomfortable and painful, with the fourth being marginally tolerable. It's now been 4 days and there are parts of me that are still healing from that experience. On a couple of them, when I mounted the bike, I couldn't believe they expected someone to ride on that saddle. I got back from one short, 10'ish minutes, ride, which I had to cut short because it was so painful, and the guy tells me that it was his favorite saddle. I was stunned. I've never ridden on a Brooks, so I have no idea what those feel like. |
