I can also assure you that as a dog lover myself, I only use it on dogs that are directly threatening me.
In over 10 years of cycling (roughly 40,000 miles), I've only used it about 6 times.

From their website:
"OC in pepper spray is an inflammatory agent which usually causes temporary blindness, extreme nausea and the instant inflammation of the breathing tube tissues which leads to the stopping of all but life support breathing."

We have some rather attractive beaches around here, lots of tourists come to use them, the locals call them litterboxes. Think about that next time you take the family to the beach.

I own and love a dog. It does not run loose. Better to mace the dog than to put it down. My children have been bitten by loose dogs. The little old lady down the street was knocked off her feet by a loose neighborhood dog. Yea, infliction of pain to prevent injury is fine. Dog warden calls are better. Lets see, humans or dogs......humans or dogs.....I just don't see the difficulty with this decision. After all, we're not talking about fluffy on the livingroom rug here.

I was riding along today when a couple of Jack Russells came out into the road to chase me. They weren't really into it so I was able to stop them just by a firm "NO". Actually I was hoping they would be more persistent so I could stop and get a closer look at their owner who was sunning in the front yard wearing a tiny orange bikini.

I don't often make public promises, but tonight right here on BF50+ I'm raising my right paw, gazing up to The Great Coyote in the Sky, and making a solemn pledge to never-ever get pulled into another hopeless dog thread.
