TDF tip of the day

"You want to make sure that you don't pour the water bottle with the electrolytic mixture in it down the back of your neck."

Or, not snap the lid down tightly and have it blow off and drain the sticky stuff on your face as you ride. Someone always remembers to bring that incident up to me a few times a season.

Anyone see the peice on Bobke's TDF experience with 7-11 last night? It was a hoot. No team mechanic, the parts van was locked and no key to be had, no team race director, you get the picture. Guess 7-11 needed to sell more slurpys. Best clip was heading for his first pro win and he unclipped and the chain flew off the bike.

Tip of the day is not to upset your National Cycling body and to let them Know where you are every Day.

Rasmussen-and Banned from National Team for not making himself available for random drug testing by not informing the National body where he was on 2 days, out of 365, as to where he was.

May be more in this but that was the situation I heard.

I once filled the downtube water bottle with free gatorade at a rest stop (some charity run). I didn't close the valve all the way, and it was a very bumpy road. Shortly I found much of my frame covered with sticky goo.....

Something about somebody having six times the upper limit for testosterone too if I recall.

One grows weary with the inability of pro racing to dig itself out of the mire of doping allegations and actual transgressions.

---that said, it's a hell of a Tour.

Far more repugnant to me, however, is Michael Vick. Makes me wonder who is more bestial, he or his pathetic, poor dogsand the subhumans involved in this.
