That'd be a good question to ask over at Bentrideronline.com; I don't have any direct experience with CFs other than to make the observation that RANS seems to be the only crank-forward mfg who's serious about performance.

I've ridden on 5 or 6 of them, but not a RANS as I've never found a RANS dealer who kept them in stock - and I've stopped at something like 7 authorized RANS dealerships.
I enjoy riding crank forward bikes. I find them very comfortable and easy to ride. Going up hills is easier, but slower, than on a more traditional bike.
Most of them are configured like a comfort bike, with a heavy frame, big comfy seat, easy gearing. RANS offers more performance-oriented designs.
If you haven't tried one out and can't find a RANS bike, then go to a Giant dealer and give the Suede a whirl. Or a Trek Pure.
