No hangover, since I'm a non-drinker, but I did have a nice 20 mile ride with BSLeVan this afternoon.

I found it interesting that they said his jump was over twice the distance of the Wright brothers' flight at Kittyhawk. |
Sensibility is key. Moderation.
We kept the consumption sane (3 double martinis and one glass of champagne over 4 hours) and made sure that we ate something throughout the night. I feel fine. But we've had wind (30mph gusts) over the past couple of days that I just haven't felt like dealing with so I hit the trainer this morning for the first time this winter for an hour. Oh joy. Happy New Year all! |
No hangover here-no alcoholic beverages for around 19 yrs now-sure don't miss the hangovers, though a cold beer on a hot summer day still sounds good-but I still pass on it! We do have some sparkling pomegranate cranberry drink that's tasty though!

Tried to go for a ride. Rode 1.5 miles with the wind. Went to turn around and could hardly peddle against the wind. Temp in mid 20's.
Does a 3 mile ride count? |
I had a little over a bottle of wine last night, and woke up after a 5 1/2 hour sleep with a bad hangover. I decided to experiment a bit, and see if I could manage a century. On top of that, I woke up late, so there wasn't enough daylight to stop for a meal, so I had to rely on carb supplements to keep me going. I made it all right, though. 5 hrs. 50 min. riding time, for 100.2 miles. Now I'm tired!

A wee bit hungover from the 2007 NYE house party.
I cooked all night for the 40 odd guests, drank a bit, ate a bit, danced a bit and retired after 3am. Got up at 9am felt ok. Fixed a green smoothie and a cup of espresso and rousted the overnight guests and welcomed the runners as they started to arrive. My wife had 14 of her running buddies over for their traditional New Year's day run and to finish the leftovers. I had only 1 taker for the New Year's day ride. My newbie riding mate and I rode just as the snow storm began;temps around 25 F, winds out of the west @ 25-30mph. Stayed out long enough to be the last ones in. Felt a bit manly after that till the elder son wandered in and let us know that he achieved "Polar Bear" status with his 10 am swim in a very frigid Lake Erie. |
Hangovers
Went out to dinner w/friends. I was drinking so my wife was driving. Three lite beers total. Got tired, went home early and watched the television celebrations. Woke up slightly hungover, lightweight drinker, had to wait until 3 this afternoon to feel up to anything. Rode the trainer a bit to keep the legs loose. Have a Tacx I-Magic and got several environments to ride in to keep from being bored.
I am starting my New Year on the bike, yay. |
Dude! A hangover from three lite beers? :(
