How Many Hangovers Today?
Do you ride to get the alcohol out on New Year's Day?
|
No alcohol, ever, ergo, no hangover, ever.
Isn't that a great way to start the New Year? |
Slight hangover here. But no ride, it is a windy, snow covered road out there today. Happy New Year!
|
What's a hangover. Does it have something to do with panniers?
|
Didn't even see in the New Year, so of course no hang over. I am starting off my New Year with a bike ride, don't know how far it will be until it's finished. Traffic should be light since everyone is sleeping in and hopefully there are no more drunks on the road.
Happy New Year -- and may you all have many more miles to ride! |
No alcohol so no hangover. It's about 15 with a 20 to 30 MPH wind, so no riding either.
|
I'm a serious party animal. Avoided booze and went to sleep around 9:30, I think.
|
Just wait till Stapfam checks in. He might not be here till tomorrow.
|
No hangover and no ride.
It's 26F with 25MPH winds and light snow:( |
I'm thinking about a morning ride, but it's 48 degrees and I'm just not in the mood for putting on all those layers right now. The streets ARE empty and all is quiet. I think I'll take a long, hot bath and read a book. I'm considering a non-cycling goal of reading one biography a month this year.
My morning is better spent cleaning up the place, paying December's bills (a little late!), and maybe taking a ride this afternoon when it's at least in the 60's. |
Our New Year's ritual for the last 12 years is the same;
Stay home Ice boiled shrimp & snacks Watch Casablanca Sometimes wine - but not last night In bed at 12:05 No hangover. Temp headed into the low 50's today. Will do 25 after the ball game. Maybe 15 is Mrs. Mono elects to ride. |

No hangover here either, getting drunk on New Year's Eve is for beginners.:) Actually, I can't afford the calories that alcohol brings to the party. |
No alcohol ever, just don't care for it. Huge winds today here in the Southern Sierra with some major storms coming in over the next five days, so in about a half hour we 're taking the tandem down to the San Joaquin Valley and get in a nice long ride while we can.
Happy New Year to everyone! Bill J. |
No hangover. A few glasses of wine with dinner. Another glass sitting with friends, and 2 paper cups of champagne at midnight while watching the fireworks in the park. I was hoping to ride today but the forecast is for rain here.
|
There are two days I never leave the house...
The day after Thanksgiving when everyone is shopping and New Year's Eve. |
Had a long leisurely dinner with friends, then hoisted a small glass of champagne at midnight. No hangover here.
Happy New Year everyone. |
Nothing to drink last night so no hangover, did 37 miles this morning. Very warm 83F and humid >70% RH this morning, bottom is suppose to drop out later today and temps to get down to low 40s. Everyone will have their parkas on tomorrow down here.
|
I had about a teaspoon of champaign to celebrate our 41st anniversary and that's the first drink of alcohol in 15 years. 40 degrees, 20 to 25mph out of the north and 10 miles.
|
Partied with friends and their kids so we ate, drank, made merry, repeated. Disinclined to get up early but no hangover. It's sunny, 45*, winds 9-15 with gusts up to 20-something, but we're going for a ride because of the storms coming in as mentioned by specbill.
Way to bring in a new year! |
Hung out at home with the family. We toasted with sparkling grape juice at midnight. I sat up another couple of hours sipping a couple of shots of Wild Turkey.
No hangover. Did a short ride with some club members in the cold and wind. Then another short ride around the neighborhood with my wife. Now I'm watching football all day like every good American. ;) |
The only hangover I have is my belly over the waistline of my pants.

But saying that- I did get down to the cafe- Had scrambled egg on toast and then went to climb a slope. The breakfast kept reminding me that I had a pain under the helmet so bypassed the hill and came home. Only 20 miles of it but I struggled for 19 of them. Edit- feeling better now- now where did I put those lamps for the bike? |

still here but just about. For someone that does not normally drink a great deal- There were too many good bottles of wine last night that just had to be sampled.

Opened a bottle of wine at 9:30 and Wifey said I was asleep by a quarter to 10.
**insert party noise maker sound here** |
Did anyone not see Robby Madison do the jump over the football field in Las Vegas**********? Come on folks!!!!!!! It was on the "athlete channel" after midnight.........
