During my day at work I interact with a lot of people and do a lot of talking. Here, I can just read and learn or read and enjoy. I check in almost daily, and join in occasionally.

Tom Bombadil: Yeah, since I've cleaned up a lot of my bad habits from my youth and started riding more seriously I feel a lot more vigorous and youthful, except for some of the physical residue from a misspent youth that is.

Artkansas: I never recommend that people try the stupid stuff that I attempt. Even if I'm successful. Just thought that 50 miles per year plus 50 to grow on would be a grand way to celebrate the half century mark. It will be my first century ride as well.

I am with those who say they read to enjoy,,,most of the ideas are already in the thread,,, I very much enjoy just being around the bicycle mentality...whatever that means.
Oh yes, I do post from time to time...and sometimes more times than others.

My name is Joe . . . and I am a lurker.

But I am over 50, so maybe I fit in here, in this forum. Some of the others seem beyond my abilities and knowledge. But I *am* willing to learn.

Riding the same bike I bought when I was 18, but, darn, that sucker must have *expanded* over the years in the basement. I can hardly get on and off the thing.

Maybe now I have an excuse to get a new bike.

Call me a lurker if you want

...but when I have nothing to contribute, I keep my mouth shut. Unfortunately, not everyone takes that approach.

What about people like me, who almost never start a new thread? Got a negative label for us?

I have become a lurker on the P&R page, waiting for the right time to kneel and pray for permission to post there. When the Sunday School crowd gets out of hand, I'll rejoin and give them a tune-up. bk
