Now that you have that fancy steed, you're not going to change your avatar, are you? I like the one you have now... it's sunny, cheerful, and happy and we need some blue sky and sun.

Hi Yen,

I was just thinking about that! You must have read my mind. No, I've decided not to change my avatar for now. I mourn the loss of avatars when people replace them. I especially miss Tom's and Weak Link's. Not being able to see any of you, the avatar becomes the visual representation of each of you. I don't know about you, but it's disconcerting to me when members change their avatars. I like your avatar, too. Didn't someone at the Randy ride recognize you because of your pink helmet?

I feel the same as you do about the avatars; I recognize other members by their avatar and I miss them when they change them. Yes, Tom found me by my pink helmet.... mine was the only one in the crowd.

I like your avatar.

I changed mine because the old one made me too d*mned grumpy. Not like now. I'm sweet and kind now. So shut your mouth about my changing my avatar or I'll come out there and kick your butt (that is, if I can catch up to you on your Ruby).

Avitar's can be changed to reflect one's "rightness" with the world. Obviously I'm no longer in tune with the angry smiley or the shotgun toting leather jacketed guy. This year it was a choice between a rabbit or Gloomy

Yea, yea. You don't scare me.

Besides, I'm not talking about the horny old goat guy. If I recall correctly, you had the pi symbol, didn't you? And I miss Weak Link's Mr. Bill. ("oh, noooooo!")

Kind of liberating to be able to make over ourselves a bit here in the forum via our avatars. Hadn't thought about that!

Which one of those guys had the avatar with the guy and gal on bikes riding over a hill under sunny skies? I think Weak Link said it was dark and dreary and cloudy.... or was that Tom?

BTW, about being recognizable by my pink helmet at the memorial ride..... I learned about that ride over in the soCal forum. Alice wanted a head count of who of us would be there and how we'd recognize each other. I think I said I'll be on the black bike with the pink helmet. So, I don't think he recognized me from the avatar.

That was my avatar for a few weeks. Several people criticized me about it, including TWL.

I'm kind of glad we moved near Houston now. I didn't know they have the largest medical district in the country. After a lot of test they found out what was causing the strokes, she had a hole in the back side of the heart. I asked one of the doctors, that works with the doctor that found the pin hole, in the back where he found it. He said, that's what makes him so good. So she has to be on blood thinners for 6 months. Another doctor found nerve damage from the rheumatoid arthritis and that was causing her falling so we got a good idea where were going now, it just getting there.

We really like living near the water, but I guess it's a good thing we're here. Maybe when things cool down again, we'll move, but we'll have to see what happens.Anyhow thanks for asking and enjoy your new bike. If you like it half as much as I like mine you'll love it.

Same thing was just found out about my aunt. The bad thing is they found a genetic thing that makes the blood thin, so I don't think she can go on blood thinners.

George, so happy to read that you and your wife are in good medical hands now. I hope she'll be feeling better very soon.

They put my wife on blood thinners until that disk gets membrane over it. I think if your aunt has blood that's thin enough she wouldn't need any. If she needs that disk, I don't think there are many doctors that can do that. Maybe if you call Dr. Smalling at 832-325-7211 he can tell you if there's a doctor in your area that doe's it. Good luck.

Hi George,

So happy to hear that your wife is doing better and that the doctors have figured out what's going on. That must be a huge relief for you both! Thanks for sharing.

And yes, I'm loving my new bike. I'm going to create a new post about my ride today.
