Bikes: Specialized Sirrus, Specialized Robaix, Specialized Carmel

Thanks for the welcome, have 3 bikes I alternate with, main bike is a Specialized Sirrus Pro and I got a Specialized Robaix this summer and also a Specialized Carmel which is more for doing the parkways and neighborhood. It's more of a comfort bike, wider tires, sprung seat and higher bars.

Hell yes, I'll post to 65+. I am grateful that I can post and hope I can post for many years to come. There are a lot of people that never reach the ripe old age of 66 (in my case) and are still able to be active. Live in the moment...

Welcome John. What happened to the Litespeed? That's a bike most people own for a lifetime. Mine is 10-1/2 years old.

Get on that Trek and ride the heck out of it. That will solve the problem of you not riding.

How time flies. It's been 3 months since I last posted, so I thought I'd check in again. The hernia operation I had in June is about 99% healed with only occasional slight soreness. I'm getting a lot more riding in now, and recently treated myself to another fixed gear bike that I like even more than the Wabi Lightning I bought in early July. This one is a ground up build on a Soma Rush steel track frameset and I built the rear wheel as well. It rides and handles like a dream and fits me perfectly. Life is good.

I made it to 70 yesterday but, I don't know how a 70 should feel. I'll just keep riding and lifting and Yogaering and the hell with it!
I ain't getting older, I am getting better

Happy Birthday Burr.
I too don't think about age. I just ride, go on walks with my wife (her exercise), do yoga, and watch what I eat --- except today. So far we managed to finish off half of a (small) Christmas stolen for breakfast/brunch while we watch old Christmas movies.
Tomorrow we get back to reality and proper eating, exercise, etc.

Yes, but the activity level on this thread is . . . well, . . . I guess it is appropriate for 65+'rs. It takes us a bit to read and respond!!

Sounds like you need some new blood.

Entry into Club Tombay is not obligatory- but Don't see many pics over here.

The blood does not have to be new. Any type will do.

I think we need a forum slot of our own for 70+ and not a sticky thread under 50+
I have always hated being tossed into the "baby boomer." generation group especially with 10,000 of them turning 65 everyday.
I always felt I was in the "edge generation." Too young to remember much about WWII, too young to be in the Korean conflict, too old for Vietnam, and the first to not be able to get SS at 65 (needed another month).

Just a thought.

Anybody else having trouble posting? After I log in and type a message, when I try to send it it says "not allowed - refresh the page and log in, then try again". When I refresh the page, my draft message disappears, so I've wasted all my effort.
What's going on?

Sometimes Bike Forums gets weird acting or very slow. Too many users logged on???
