Until about 3:30 central time, you can see two of my dogs at https://www.animalinnboardingkennel.com/kennel_cams.htm
click suite 4.
The girls have never been kenneled before, and haven't really been away from me for more than 4 hours, so I've put them in a room with a video camera so I can see that they're doing OK, and they're doing 2 day care days and one overnight before I start ditching them for the weekend. If they're not in the room, it's their exercise time.
I just think the technology is pretty cool.

That is so neat.
They need a clean-up in suite 7. Looks like someone poo-poo'd on the rug

Very cool. Looks like a nice facility, but the big dog seems to think it's a jail--she's been staring longingly out the gate for a few minutes now.
I used to kennel my dogs (actually it was like dog camp--they had the run of the back yard and the basement of a woman's home) but now they're old and too high maintenance so my dog walker stays in my house with them when I go away.

Oh, how we worry about our babies...
We have ours in doggie daycare twice a week.
They also provide overnighters so we left her for ten days when we went off on our 25th anniversary cruise in February. Gee, she was only 8 or 9 months old still. We had never left her before that so I kept sneaking off to the terminal room on the ship so I could watch her on the daycare center's cameras. It's just sort of reassuring.

Well, could be either.... I just went back and looked and it's not that large of a dog. It just has a humungous* tail!

I just think it's really tough on a dog to transition to a kennel stay. Especially larger dogs which can bloat if they get nervous enough.
By watching them on the cam, you can figure out how to make things easier. Like my berner girl has had hip surgery, and if she's going to lay by the door like this, then I'll put her temperpedic bed by the door so she doesn't get hip pain from the floor.
My male was interesting.... he lay by the door the whole time trying to interact with the other dogs. There are other kennels there that are more standard, and I could tell he would have a better time with the general population. He thrives on that. I think these two are better off with solid walls to begin with, as the puppy doesn't like other dogs barking. She seems to be OK with it though... she's doing a lot better with all that noise than I thought she would.
Another nice thing about the cams is that you can see that they do indeed get taken outside 5 times...one time with a staff for 1/2 hour of play. I have to clarify if they get longer since there's 2 of them. There are horror stories of kennels who put strange dogs together in a kennel, or don't provide the services you pay for.
I tried another place, without cams, but a similar "home" environment with beds and a TV. When I went to pick them up, I could tell they weren't used to the room they were in because they were startled when people came around the corner. Plus, the place was staffed by teenagers on a sunday, and they were all talking to each other...with a lot* of dogs that were supposed to be getting exercise/play time. So I really didn't believe the services were being done. You can't ask the dogs....

Got bad news about one of my dogs today. Bailey, who's 11 and has had kidney disease for 6 years, is in the hospital till Saturday because his kidney values have skyrocketed. If they can't get it under control by the weekend, there's not much hope.
I'm a basket case right now.

That's so sad.... I hope he rebounds....sometimes flushing the kidneys is miraculous....
