Riders like Velodiva are an asset to the community in providing such a nice breeze as they swing around and pass.

Thanks to all of you for your congratulatory wishes & nice comments! I just want to share a photo of my happy and proud coaches at Five Rings Cycling Centre where Hermes and I train.

Vladimir, Velodiva and Dmitriy celebrating the victory

Hermes and I at Five Rings Cycling Centre - this is where all the sweat is expended on the trainers. Soon we'll start our off-season leg work on the weights (in the back of the room) which is immediately followed by a trainer work out.

OK, Velodiva, after looking at the pics, I say it's time to 'fess up--where'd you get the fake ID that got you into the 55-59 class? And don't let us catch you using it to try to buy beer, either!

Seriously, though, congrats on a very impressive win.

That may be the nicest compliment! In two years I get to "age up" to the 60-64 age category. One of the funniest comments I heard was when Hermes and I were on the Santana Tuscany tandem tour last year, I was accused of being Hermes' "third wife." In reality, on Sept. 25 we will have been married 38 years. Wow - just realized that is just around the corner! Time does fly - but life just keeps on getting better.
