I remember using Brylcreem back when I was in junior high school, before I became a hippie. Gawd that stuff was greasy. I stopped using it when I started getting zits from all that grease getting on my face. I was also letting my hair get kinda long, so I didn't need stuff to keep it glued together.
Remember the ads on TV for Vitalis, featuring quarterback Johnny Unitas (the Tom Brady of his day, except he didn't go around dating supermodels - well, I guess they weren't called superrmodels back then). He always put Vitalis in his hair, eschewing that "greasy kid's stuff," probably referring to Brylcreem...
Man, I still can't get used to the Colts being in Indianapolis. And the Baltimore Ravens? At least the Raiders moved back to Oakland (my old home town) after a couple of years in LA.

If you want, try a Chamois Butt cream and add your own fragrance. Smear that on your hair.
How about Alberto VO-5 ? didn't that smell better than Brylcreem?

I only discovered Brylcreem when I became a Fibre Glass Laminator. It is the most incredible release agent from the mould and Polishes Gel coat better tham anything else.
So Dirty CF bike----Polish it with brylcreem. Brings on a fantastic shine
Now about My Polished Pate.

Q: Why does a bald man not need keys?
A: Because he has no locks!
(or used Brylcreem when he was younger)

My dad used that stuff. If he were still living he could be Tom Ridge's double. Unfortunately males inherit their Mother's family genes for hair and most of my Mother's brothers did not have to worry about spending $ on hair creme.

Presumably if you are 50+, you will remember the suggestion, "Try it--you'll like it."
