Rain rain rain, A Diabetics Life
I can't get away from the rain and my sugar is going up so as much as I hate it it's on the trainer today.
I'll set the fan in front put my HRM and iPOD on and try to forget where I am. Got to do 40 minutes!
You don't want to be a Diabetic, it "ain't" no fun. But I stay under control must of the time unless "I Cheat" but after 15 years, being good gets old.

Bicycling Magazine has an article about the Type 1 Diabetic team that you may be interested in. It will stop raining and you will enjoy your outside ride more.

Diabetes is a pain in the BJUDA, if I don't ride my sugar is high. I lift weights 3 times a week. I am thinking about joining a gym and spin class when it gets really cold or get me one of those rear wheel trainers?

I have to use the trainer for an hour every day that I can't get on the road. Without that exercise I go out of control big time.

I've been a T1 for almost six months and I have to say it could be worse. I get my exercise by commuting round trip 10 miles a day and my levels stay flat as a board. My first A1c was 14.8, the next was 6.3, I'm do for another at the end of this month and suspect it will be lower.
It was Team Type 1 that got me interested in biking for exercise

Around here if I didn't ride in the rain I'd hardly ever ride. It's really not all that bad. Just get some gear that can still breath and get out there.
The thing you want to avoid is a totally sealed setup where you WILL sweat up a storm inside. A light jacket that is water resistant and has underarm vents is what I use and I just redo the water proofing with a spray every couple of years as it wears thin and begins leaking again. For pants I've got lycra with wind and water resistant fronts so they protect but still breath freely from the back of the legs. With this getup I don't stay totally dry but I stay dry enough that I have no trouble at all keeping warm enough on even the worst rain days.
And I guess it's each to their own but I'll take a wet ride on a dismal day over riding in front of a fan on a trainer any day.

I'm type II. I depend on exercise to control my BS. To get by here in the rainy PNW months, I have my training room. Computrainer pro, big screen TV. Erg video interval training vids and blasting music helps a lot.

I was type II for about 15 years. I went from pills to insulin. In the last year I dropped 70 lbs. I am on No meds now and my last A1c was 5.8.(that low normal) All because of cycling. Just keep riding! It can be done!
I live near Portland OR so rain is kind of a given. Just keep riding.
