Photo test
Just testing Picasa as a place to store and link photos.
This photo is from an early season ride down into Vermont.

It works from Image Shack, but that site is very clunky.

I guess I'll go with Photobucket even though it can be a little visually cluttered with all those ads and stuff popping up. Image Shack has a much cleaner look but it works very slowly and loses my thumbnails randomly and is very limiting unless you use the pay part of the service.

The url of the picture you're trying to show us must end with jpg or gif or some picture format.
If the url for the picture doesn't end correctly, try right clicking on the full size picture and selecting "copy image address". Then post the copied address in the picture link.

Edit -- in Picasa on your own PC, you have to click Hold to build a group of photos in the Photo Tray, then click the Web Album button to upload them to a Picasa web album. Then go view the photo in the web album.
Don't use the "Embed Image" link on the right side of the album page. It will be ignored by Bike Forums. The 800 pixel option is the same as the right click image, anyway, and the smaller ones are only good to use as a link thumbnail.
Like RonH says, using Firefox, I just right click the photo and select "save image location". Then paste the URL into the Insert Image icon here.
In Internet Explorer, right click, select Properties, then select and copy the Address (URL) and paste into Insert Image here.
( Also, viewing a Picasa web album is best done via it's slide show button. You can view a full screen version that way.)
From a picasa web album using right click method:
I didn't know this until today:
If you view the web album in a narrower window, the link will be to the smaller version of the photo. It appears that normally proportioned photos are at '/s576/'. For these wider photos, if you look at the link URL when pasting into Bike Forums, it contains '/s512/' or '/s640/' instead of '/s800/' which tells Picasa which size to display. You can always edit it to be s800 or s640 to change it's size. Don't use the '/s1024/' size, it's too wide for many BF user's screens to display.
The s640 size:
The s512 size:
A normal proportioned photo at /s576/. This one won't display at /s800/:

rm-rf and RonH, thanks for the information. I'll give it a try.
Stringbreaker, that's Jay Peak in Vermont. My route goes up through a pass to the left of the mountain.
Okay. The above photo is linked from Picasa.
