Just a few days ago I was shivering with temperatures of 0F and wind chill of -20F. Today we're breaking temperature records....it's 64F

Unfortunately the record temperatures are accompanied with 20-30 mph winds, gusts to 50 and rain. I think I'll skip the riding and go shopping

Sale time over here---And due to recession has been for about 2 months.

Managed to get out and do a few rides-but not as many as I hoped. Even todays ride was called off due to black ice but the shopping has been resisted.

Some of us are just weak willed.

Bah, humbug! That's no heatwave! We are expecting mid-80s F here today. Did 40 quick miles with a bunch this morning and sweated off some Christmas food! I think I'll take nap now!

In SE Michigan here we've got 49 F temperatures and moderate winds, but water and hidden melting ice all over. I'm afraid I'll melt if I go out.

Just waiting for 3:00 to meet up and ride with a buddy for a 2 hr ride. The temps are 60+ and the winds are big from the South, we'll go that way first and and have fun returning.

its been very warm this past couple days, and the morning dew is dripping from the tree's all over the roads, its like a mist...
Very tricky and you dress to heavy and you sweat to thin and the dew drips will soak you and the air is a little cool you'll feel chilled down pretty quick...
Now lets keep those tires down on the slippery roads and not push those hard right turns by leaning to hard. not too windy thats a plus put in a quick 34miles this am...at least there's no fogg, now i ve done it this type of weather always brings on the fog with the cool water and warm air.shioooot.

Our heat wave topped out at 46 - with rain most of the day. It has melted off a lot of snow. Back to the mid-20s tomorrow.

After several days of cool, windy and rainy weather, today it was 67 F with practically no wind.

I took Ribby out for a spin with my son and a friend and got in a nice 21 miles with some pretty decent hills involved. That's the longest and hardest ride I've managed for quite a while. It really felt good to work up a little sweat.

About the same as Michigan here, 49F. Still way too much ice to cycle.

We got our 40 mile ride in. It did not matter that the roads were wet and the winds were around 30 mph. First time riding outdoors in daylight and shorts in a long time. Next outdoor ride is Monday with 40 degree temps and daylight.

The heat wave in central Louisiana is ending as we speak. The cold front that stretches from somewhere around Ohio down to the Texas Gulf Coast is blowing through right now. Wind is stiff and noticeably cooler. So much for shorts and a short sleeve jersey...... back to the misery.... riding so bundled up that I look like the Michelin Man

The heat wave in Kentucky ends tonight, which is why I'm considering riding in the morning. I realize that high 30's (I'm not doing the converting for you Brits) is not all that cold for many. I've been pondering seeing if they could use a gastroenterologist in Costa Rica.

Yup, it got really warm up here today too. I've been sick with a chest cold and a head cold, or perhaps it's flu. Haven't felt this bad in years. To top it off, woke up this morning to find 2 inches of water in the basement. Turns out the sump pump motor burned out during the night probably due to overuse from all the rain we've had lately. I was lucky to get a new pump installed thanks to my two sons who drove over from Akron to rescue me. They even squeegeed the basement floor and got all the fans and dehumidifier running. Lots of boxes of stuff that were on the normally dry floor are soaked. I've got a real mess and I'm too sick to screw around with it now.

The good news is...all bike paraphernalia is safe, as are the bikes.

Sorry to hear about that Louis . . . sounds like a real mess. Thankfully, we don't have a basement.
Weather was cold here this morning (34 deg. F), then got all the way to 68 mid day before drifting back down again.

Got in a 32 mi. ride, my usual MUP on Coyote Creek to San Gabe to Seal Beach and back on the fixed gear bike. Wool base layer, arm and knee warmers in addition to the usual shorts and jersey. Lots of riders out, some looked under-dressed to me, but whatever, I'm a cold weather wimp.

Here in sw Ohio, it was 66 at 9am. Since the road surface was still very cold, it stayed soaking wet from condensation. But the ride was great, even with the wind. I was wearing shorts and fingerless gloves by the afternoon, when it was about 70.

Turns out that it got up to 49 here on Saturday. That tied the all-time recorded high for December 27th.

Its not the heat I am bothererd by but that wind. Takes the temp way down.

Yesterday I looked at the garden from the lounge- went down the garden to see what needed doing- Went back in doors and looked at it again. Told the wife the lawn needed cutting but she hasn't done it yet.

Slept with the windows open last night, woke a little late, but tried to get a ride in anyway. A front was supposed to move in, by 11. It was early

Started my 20-mile loop around 9:15, partly sunny, 51°F, winds SE @ 15–20 mph. At the five-mile turn, the blow hit like a freight train. I rode five miles directly into the wind on the canal path, with spray being blown up from the drained canal. I did this so that I wouldn't have a quartering headwind on the roads coming home. I cut the ride short, making a turn-off that gave me a quartering tailwind home.

It would have been nice to get upwind of home and sail back, but I think discretion is the better part of valor.

Well, ummm...you're half right. While carrying my last bike up the steps I think I caught a brief glimpse of my wife swirling down the drain.

Friday - started a ride at 34f ended 40f, pouring rain. Sat. high 60s took grandkids to the Zoo. Sunday back in the 40s windy. Where is the heat "wave", wave implies more than a day.

72 degrees with 20+mph winds. Put in 40 miles turning into the wind at the 25.5 mile mark. What a brutal way to end a ride, but it was a good ride just the same. Better than other things I could have done.

Our heat wave ended here also...abruptly...with a 20+ degree temperature drop in one five minute period. When the wind kicked-in at my place it was if the heavens turned on a giant leaf blower. It came up that fast. Sustained winds in the 30-40 mph range with 60+ mph gusts all day long. Trees and power lines are down all over the western half of the state. My internet blew away (Roadrunner) and I hope it comes back soon as I can't come to work and get on-line every day. I decided that there are too many "Widow Makers" waiting to come down and chose to leave the bikes alone yesterday.

The Sunday morning ride was cancelled due to winds in the 30 mph range.

Tuesday is looking good for a ride. Temps in the high 40's with 10-20 mph winds from the south. We plan to head south on the Little Miami Scenic trail for lunch in the antique capital in this area then enjoy tailwinds all the way home

We had that wind here too. We are not far from Buffalo - did you see the game yesterday? Bills tried a field goal, the ball looked like it was going to miss left, then missed right. Unbelievable.
