Remember us talking about Surly switching to Andel cranks on the '09 LHT? This one came with the Sugino. It's early in the model year so they must be using up the Suginos first. Yay!

Ah, a bit of luck for Louis. I can't speak to the quality of Andel, but Sugino certainly has a more established track record. I would have been pleased by this discovery, had it been my bike.

You're gonna love your LHT! You might recall I got the Utility Blue color last year, and I sure love mine. It's a fun ride. I put a rack and Topeak pack on the back.

Finally got in a test ride today. It rides every bit as sweet as one might expect...and more! There is absolutely no toe overlap, even with fenders fitted. It's my first experience with bar end shifters and I gotta say they are a perfect match for a guy like me and a bike like the LHT. I felt right at home in the cockpit, no mid-ride adjustments needed.
I love it.

Here she is, sporting her new fenders, just after finishing our ride.

Yes I certainly do remember, Yen. Your early ride reports helped put me over the edge. Thanks.

And thanks also to the other posters in this thread for your kind words.

Watch out for Yen- She wears Sidi Shoes and she raves about those too

That does look a comfortable ride- and I was going to ask when the ride report was coming.

You trained me well, stapfam.

Louis - I take none of the responsibility. It's the ride and the looks that put you over the edge.

All it needs is lights and it's ready for a tour!!

I'm taking the 520 in for fenders later this week. First I need to clean in up.....don't want the LBS to see it dirty. I didn't clean it up after a winter ride
