birthday rides

Given the increasing numbers of us completing the birthday (age x miles or kilometers) challenging ride, and congrats to neilG, I am proposing the addition of a new challenge. I'm thinking that we should add doing the same in climbing. Thus as I turn 59 this year, I would need to do 59 miles along with 5900ft (or meters if you want to be hardcore) of climbing. I'm suggesting this now as my b-day does not occur until the end of sept. and I'm old enough and smart enough to want to see how it works out for others first. First lesson learned in the army, never volunteer to be first. Any feedback?

I am about a month older than you -- does this mean I have to be your guinea pig?

Currently, I'm at the permanent residence in central Louisiana. 5,900 feet of climbing around here would be a trick. Might require about 4,000 miles of riding.
