Thanks!

And Happy Birthday Cranky.

Oh, and Happy Birthday Metric Man.

I work Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so no birthday rides on those.

Last weekend it took me 55.87 miles to do the half-century ride at the Great Finger Lakes Bicycle Tour.

(I took a wrong turn and ended up at the Watkins Glen International Speedway. Buncha bubbas lookin' at me thinkin', What a stupid way to spend a Saturday and me lookin' back at 'em thinkin', What a stupid way to spend a Saturday.)

I needed only 52, so does the 55.87 count?

I'll round up some pics.

Some pics from GFLBT

BTW, I wore my 50+ jersey on the Friday night warm-up ride--no pics from that, sorry.

From the Saturday half-century that took me 55.87 miles to do…

A turn that everyone misses. (Not the one I missed.)

County Road 22, has a sweet descent followed by this climb through the trees to the sky.

At the top of the climb, there's this vista. That's Lamoka Lake, not officially one of the Finger Lakes--more of a Metatarsal Lake.

On CR 17 after climbing out from Wayne, NY, the view of Keuka Lake from Keuka Overlook Vineyards.
There's a bit of distance here, plus 800 feet of elevation.

Further down CR 17, a genuine, accept no imitations steamroller. No diesel here!

The Sunday ride is my absolute favorite ride in all of Upstate. We circumnavigate Keuka Lake.

Here wearing my BikeForums.net Great Lakes Region jersey, with my ride partner for the day, Maggie, 73, from New Jersey. Taken from Esperanza Mansion, high above the west branch of Keuka Lake.

Here again with Maggie after the end of the ride.

Did I mention she makes a mean energy bar? Absolutely scrumptious.

Oops! Forgot these:

Lining up for the start of the Friday night ride, a little 20-miler to work up some appetite before dinner, I spied this imposter Yellow Bike. Okay, a sibling of my Yellow Bike. Just not as nice as mine. And the engine's not quite as peppy either.

Canadians! They were everywhere! This is actually three groups of Canadians who met up on the Saturday ride. Shared a bunkhouse with one group, the two sisters were in a motorhome just outside. I grew up summering in Ontario, so I speak Canadian, eh?

On Sunday, I sprinted ahead to get a pic or two of Maggie riding along. So what does she do? She brings a peleton up the hill with her. And a chase car!

You're welcome.

And the secret? Go to the very bottom of the BF home page. Today's Birthdays are listed. For the 19th, it said,

curb hash, cranky old dude (58), Im Fixed (55), tsl (52), Metric Man (52), BarryJo (45), nicomachus (33), nome.king (25), mbowman99 (24)
I've now saved that into a text file for future reference.

BF has a home page? I bookmarked 50+ and called it good.
