Bikes: confidential infromation that I don't even share with my wife

Today was day 3 of our ride across PA on RT 6. On Saturday we did 84 miles, Sunday 87 miles and today we did 74 miles. The road surface is good with a 4' berm for riding. The road is engineered making the hill gradients smooth and even. On Sat we averaged 18.7, Sunday's ave was 18.2 and today with a nice tail wind my average was 20.3 with 3,700' ft of climbing. Tomorrow is a long day then on Wed we will only ride about 1.5 hours to get to the NY state line. We will leave RT 6 when we get close to Wilkesbarre and stay north of the congested areas in the Pocono's.

Rode down to Argosy casino then along the river dike towards Parkville. Turned around at end of trail.

Rode for 30 miles on Sunday and 26 today cut short by a flat. Have to walk about 2 miles home and then inspected the tire which was completely worn out. I must have put on over 3K miles since. I'll ride tomorrow my Dahon folder and after the ride, I'll take the tire that was flat and get a replacement.

Yep 29.55 and the humidity was horrible! Last few days I have been dripping with sweat and getting into my eyes and on glasses and it has been hard to see. I have a "Halo" sweat band and it helps but I think it is just too much sweat. Averaged 18.2 though. When it is over I feel good though so all is well in Southern Md.!
Total of 845m for the month, want to get to 1,000m but think I may miss it. Need 50 for the next three days in a row all after work....don't think it is going to happen. Shoud get 900 though easy.

I had a crappy day. I couldn't make it up a 1/2 mile climb of about 10%. I had to stop halfway up because I was seeing fireballs. After a short rest, I continued up, but it sort of ruined my day. Total was 25miles at 15mph. I usually do between 15-16 solo, so all in all it wasn't too bad. Just not much fun.

Late this afternoon I rode 15-ish miles (flat, Ken, :lol) to ride a 10 mi. time trial practice. I'll get the results back tomorrow or Friday. I'm hoping for a sub-30 but have no idea -- had some wind and just kept hammering.

The ride home was almost more painful due to the head/crosswinds howling. I was pretty tired by the time I got home and was really happy to stretch, eat dinner, and relax.

42 miles in all, pancake-flat and full of hard efforts. Whew. I need sleep, now.

No riding since last Sat. I've been at the beach and since being back home the weather has been rainy. Today, my daughter and I went up on the mountain between showers to pick a quart of wild blueberries.

Succumb to what?

I know you're being humorous but I don't get it in this case. Color me confused.

Note to self: When legs protest, pay attention.

Club ride tonight, 30 miles, headwind for the last 12. About 10 miles in I got gapped, and 28 mph couldn't close it. I dropped back to about 24 and TT'd to the first regroup, maybe 5 miles. After that another not-so-fast-but-consistent rider and I traded pulls for a few flat miles, then I headed for home. This pairing was a blessing as we both needed recovery and we made it so.

Even when I fail at my mission I enjoy these rides. There's so much to be gained, if one chooses to be open to what's available.
