42 miles today spinning @ 95 - 110. I was hoping to have double the miles of the 22 degree temps but just told myself "screw it, you're hungry, you're tired, just go home".

Put the studded tires on and went down to an old sand pit - rode around on the ice for awhile and then rode around in the woods a bit.

Lilly pads frozen in the ice.

Got in about 18 miles on the bike trail in pretty rotten conditions - rain, winds gusting to 20-25 mph, flooding.
Lots of fallen branches and other debris on the trail. Love my new Planet Bike fenders.

Awful conditions - Awful. About mid 50's, partly sunny, a bit of wind. Gosh, I hate riding a couple of hours in those conditions in December in Denver, Co !!!

Very nice sunny winter day in Minnesota - did 25 miles on packed-snow trails on a slow and sociable club ride. Not many people came out for the ride, even though mid-day temperatures were a toasty 18°F. I think maybe other winter riders in the club chose the concurrent faster A/B ride. I go on those rides in the summer, but I'm really slow with my fat 2.1" studded tires and in the winter, I'm more comfortable riding an easy pace with less sweating and associated fogging of my goggles. So the slow ride suits me just fine.

I rode 18 miles, my 1st ride in 5 days and I really wasn't supposed to. I had outpatient surgery last Wednesday and have a number of stitches in a non-stressed part of my body and am really not supposed to get my blood pressure or heart rate up. Don't want the stitches to blow. I did the slowest ride I've ever done today, kept my heart rate at walking down the driveway levels and no more. That got me about 10-11 mph but I needed it so bad. I can't just sit in a chair. Here in the Florida panhandle, we're looking for mid-60's tomorrow with a 6 mph breeze and I'll do it again at the same effort level. Think I can start stepping it up in a couple of days, maybe to 15 mph by Thursday and back to my standard 18 or so in a week. Hope so anyway.

Temp - 45F; winds 15-20 mph, did my chores by bicycle today - swimming fir 40 minutes then about an hour of riding. Still recovering from cold, and with the wind, thst is enough exercise. I still have PT this afternoon.

It finally warmed up enough (for Georgia folks) to get out and do a not so quick 22 miler. It felt good to be out. Only saw one other cyclist.

Despite the best-laid plans, no, I did not ride today. Had my kit all set out, had a route in mind, was just gonna do an easy 16 mile spin before work...alarm went off and all I could think was "It's 5:15AM, it's 20°F outside, and I'm too tired to even tell whether or not I'm hungover from last night's saki & beer..."

I suck.

15 easy miles on the tandem between rain waves. Probably 50degF out which is cold for us folks, but we toughed it out. I actually saw a sliver of blue sky, but I fear more wet stuff is on the way.

I rode 7 miles yesterday on mostly dry roads and shoveled 4 inches of snow today-it is, of course, still snowing.

I finally gave up on the weather out here yesterday and brought my Look and my trainer into the living room. I put 45 (boring) minutes in on it, leaving a lovely puddle of sweat on the towel I placed under the bike (to protect the carpet).

Tomorrows weather forecast looks promising. I'm hoping for our Tuesday group ride (45+ miles) or it's the trainer again...

Thanks. Made up for it by getting out today: 5:30AM, 24°F with 20mph winds, and I'm out there doing intervals for an hour. Woo-hoo, it's good to be crazy! Felt pretty good though, and I got to see the tail end of a lunar eclipse to boot.

Biked to the credit union and then grocery store for a 6-pack of GL Christmas Ale. Hmm... no wind, no snow, 28º and a 'lil sun... so I went back out for a 15 miler. After temps in the teens, much nicer.

Did an hour and a half night ride on the mtb in the snow. It was nice with no wind, 28 degree temps and crusty snow. The single track was a little packed down by hikers, deer and in some parts of the trail two other mtb's. There was enough soft snow that the bike didn't roll and I rode mostly in an overgear. It was more work than I anticipated, I'm bushed and will skip the core and resistance exercises.

Sissy.

That said, I haven't ridden for over a month now, off the bike 'til spring.
So, yeah, I'm a (way) bigger sissy. (I am keeping busy in the weight room &
swimming pool though.)

18.61 miles doing a errand run, in the gray, cold and cloudy day that was today. Of course, the sun broke out just after I got home! The only good thing was I stopped at a coffee shop and had a piece of the BEST Lemon Creame Cake, in the town! Reward for doing a good deed and freezing my "buns" off!

Went out again this morning. Wednesdays are usually my longest midweek ride, and I was hoping I could brave the cold and do 35-40 miles before I had to get to work, but something wasn't right today. My legs felt fine, my air felt fine, but my head was killing me! Plus it was really freakin' cold, and, since I had the aforementioned headache, I had decided to just do a really easy spin which meant I never generated any heat. So midway through the ride I still had a headache plus now I was freezing cold, and I'm toodling along at such an easy spin I thought I might fall over...it all just seemed a little wrong. So I turned around & went home. Managed 17 miles total.

Hey, I actually got on the trainer last night and took the mtb up the closed BRP this afternoon. 2 days in a row on the bike. I'm officially way out of shape but on the road back. Now if it wouldn't snow this weekend...
