27 miles late today with a friend on country roads. Got back to the car just as the sun was setting. Great ride, I'm finally starting to see progress in my self-reclamation efforts.

27 miles late? I've been more than 27 minutes late more than once. And occasionally 27 miles lost.

I got in rides Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. Watched the Paris-Roubaix race on NBC Sports, twice on Sunday. The rides were super nice with great weather the entire weekend. I of course had pie following both day's ride, Key Lime was the pie du jour.

Sitting here in Illinois with no bike, reading these posts and going into withdrawals. I don't know if I can last until next Sunday.

36 windy miles on a rare Monday ride (I'm taking only part of spring break "off"). Beautiful day, but when it gets windy I slow down on hills I usually bomb. Plays havoc with the average moving speed.
Anyway, I'm really tired, but I get to rest tomorrow as I work a full day.

10 mile time trial directly into a 20mph headwind as part of my ride to work today. Not the smartest way to ride if the goal is to arrive at the office fresh as a daisy, but at least I got my hard workout for the week out of the way.

Yesterday was absolutely flawless weather wise here. Rode in the mid-afternoon, I felt super. No head winds either direction. And of course I had a slice of Key Lime Pie afterwards, along with a cold glass of chocolate milk.

The weather's been great down here in FL, except for some wind. I've got in 30 miles a day except for 1 day to rest, and tomorrow is a rest day, then back out. I'm at 213.7 so far this month, need to extend my rides to 35 soon. I'm sort of new to the return to this sport, loving it more each day.

Yes I did, and I fell in love. But, it will have to a love from afar because the object of my desire would cost me $3000.
I borrowed a Yeti ASR5 (https://www.yeticycles.com/#/bikes/asr5) from the shop for tonight's group ride and o.m.g., is it a wonderful bike.
The ride started with a climb, nothing tough, but some rocky bits, but the bike climbed right over it all. The there was some swoopy down hill, with the usual New England roots & rocks, but that bike handles like a dream. The handle bars are a bit wide for my liking, but so I had to be careful through the trees, but the front wheel held the line and never wobbled.
There was not much in the way of technical riding, but there was one tight turn, followed by a short, rocky down hill approach to a narrow bridge that, once I turned that corner, all I had to do was point the front wheel and swoosh, I was over the bridge with out a second thought.
The only thing I didn't like was that the rear suspension was a bit too squishly for my taste, but that could be made stiffer.
So , now, I have to go down stairs to my bike and reassure her that I still do still love her and she and I will be together for a long time to come. Unless I win the the lottery.

Had a nice late afternoon ride. Everything was much better than my day at work. As I rode it seemed all the problems just washed away with the wind. A slice of pie and a glass of cold chocolate milk finished off the evening.

Wednesday club ride. 30 miles. One of my favorite local roads has been closed for several months for a bridge replacement. It reopened it last week, so we chose a route that goes that way. There is a smooth, slightly downhill 2.5 mile section that always reminds me why I love riding road bikes.

Dumped the double seals on the mega exo and found some extra oomph.
Installed a Grand Cru 50.4 46/30 on the 92 Paramount and discovered climbs again.
There's a LBS club ride that goes by my place every day. I'm sure they've figured out 'why' I roll out of the drive just after they've ridden by on their warm up (warmup is 19mph) I don't try to draft of stay right up with them. I simply use them and the rabbit and see how long I can keep pace while maintaining a football field between us.
I'm usually good till they eclipse the 24mph mark .
Given the route they take is 23 miles out and involves a climb back up the escarpment ,I get some quality time in at least 3x a week.
(That's on the CF bike not the steel paramount)

I took the Masi out for its first extended ride today. About 35 miles from the front door to Concord and back. Got caught in a bit of rain on the way home. I didn't mind. As near as I can tell the bike didn't either.
