It rained all day yesterday so I wasn't able to ride. I needed the day off anyway as I fell off my bike last week and bruised my hip/butt and every time I've ridden since then I've been in pain. I might take today off as well. Tomorrow I have plans to ride the W&OD bike trail from Reston to Ashburn and back (20 miles) so I need to rest my bruised butt.

30 miles with a friend under cloud cover and reasonable temps, considering it's July in the deep south. By the time I got home, showered and chilled for a few minutes it was raining anyway.

Great ride yesterday. A group of seven of us, aged 93 to 15 years (one rider's grandson and his friend made up the junior contingent), rode rural Yolo and Solano County roads all morning and into the early afternoon. We left the flatlands and made it to the Berryessa dam overlook, west of Winters, just barely entering Napa County. Continuing up the hill would have given us a descent into Napa wine country, but left us too far from home. As it was, I hit a new record of 63 miles for the day. Rode my age unintentionally.

28 miles on the T34. I should ride 500+ miles this month. I'll ride again tomorrow, putting me near 400 miles MTD.

Bikes: I've lost my mind!

I decided to pump up the tires on my 71 Super Sport today, took it out for about a 20 mile run. I think I'm going to start putting miles on it again. Last time I rode it I was just getting restarted after a long 20 year layoff and I had a hard time getting up the hills with it. It's a pretty heavy bike. I've been riding regularly for about a year on a hybrid, and today I had a much easier time dragging that thing around. I've had the bike since I was 15, and put a lot of time into getting it ready to use. Now I guess I'll put some miles on it!

Twenty-one mile club ride this morning. One of the rare days when all the riders are on road bikes so the pace was brisk.

Bikes: Specalized Expidetion Hybred. I do about 400-500 miles each month and am aiming for 5000 miles again this year.

Short ride of 20 miles today in really hot weather (which doesn't bother me all that much). I usually do 400-500 miles per month and did 5000 miles last year. Not too bad for a 68 year old who got back on the bike about 3 years ago after a 45 year layoff. Not trying to set any records, just slow and steady does it for me.

Just finished my usual rise route. 81*F for the ride, nice and comfortable, just a cross wind to keep me on my toes.

Still taking it easy after meeting Mr. Pavement a few days ago; the Ride Across Indiana (RAIN) route was very close to my home so I rode a few miles this morning as the riders came through from Terre Haute on their way to Richmond. They were at about mile 80 of 160. Everybody looked pretty chipper.

I've ridden that RR crossing hundreds of times and am not as cautious as many that I saw go over it - they were prudent.

Ha, tell me about it! I did 110 miles yesterday in that slop. Rode from Nova across the river to MD, out to Point of Rocks, and back on the W&OD. Out of 8 hours or so on the road, maybe half an hour of it wasn't either misting, raining, or a tropical downpour.... It was cold too, and I got quite chilled.

It was fun, but I don't need to do that again for awhile...

15 miles indoor training after
I was out flipping and buying bikes at garage sales.
Wound upwith a Giant Rincon frame in giant size , for me .
I think, if recall correctly,
I was supposed to be buying a Mountain Bike
for someone else .
But fate intervened .

36 miles before 9AM. My riding partner and I came across Dave Noda, one of the owners & coaches of Vision Quest at the start of the ride and the three of us rode 15 miles to Highland Park. I kept the pace at 21 mph which is close to my redline. These guys were taking it easy at the same pace.

Perfect weather, this week will get hot again.

First long ride on new bike today and with new riding buddy. If you had asked me last week - who would make the best ride partner - I would never have even thought of male nurse! Who needs 911 anymore. Removed factory pedals and on with the Wellgo's. Tomorrow I start riding with special effort to not meet blacktop. Note to me - rotate foot at stops.

Bikes: Apollo Revival Mountain Bike

About 22 miles today (ish).

Went on a Breeze Women Only ride which was about 5+ miles from home so had to cycle that distance to get there plus another 2 because I got lost.

The ride was about 6 miles then after that went back to Manchester City Centre another 4 miles or so then 5 miles back home after that.

Not as far as century seeking members but far enough now worn out lol.

10 miles on the Giant Cypress , have the Rincon mostly built . Almost 100 miles, not bad for an eventful month .
