18 miles on the coldest ride of the year to date: 10°F. Part of the ride was on the trail around Lake of the Isles, where there were tons of people skating and playing hockey. Hardly any other cyclists were out, but there were some runners on the trails. Winter in Minnesota.

Finally after being frustrated at not riding the last 2 days I got ride in today. Did 51 miles. I wanted to do a metric century, but it was going to get dark rather soon, so I settled on 51 miles.

About 30 miles. Don't know exactly because the bike has no "computer".

Rode some this afternoon but the rain showers moved in so I cut things short, too windy for both today. Looks like the need for wet weather gear for the whole week right now. Out comes the rain shell.

Bloody cold (yes, this Jersey-girl is now Californicated) at 37* when we started out on the ride, and there was sun and ice as well. We all laughed when another former New Jerseyian said "You know it's cold when you're happy to climb a hill."

I rode the two coldest rides ever for me this weekend. 62 on Saturday with temps 25-47. Then 101 on Sunday a the Casa Grande Century, 28 - 46.

Both were a bit challenging at first, but was totally glad I rode both.

Excellent ride this morning; best time this year and best time since my tendonitis. Thirty miles in just over 1:52. Started off cool and foggy and ended up nice and sunny with a 6-7 mph headwind and 74º temps. Gotta drop about 5 minutes and get back to that 1:40 range.

Woke up late this AM, 0420--so I could only fit in 23 miles to have the time to shower, dress, fix lunch, and run off to a sub assignment.

Won't get a ride in tomorrow on the count of rain and not likely Wednesday either--again, rain.

My wife and I got out in the beginning fog for what turned out to be a great 32 mile ride on our local MUP. However, after a 150 or so miles on the new bikes we both have decided it's time for a saddle upgrade.

Rode this afternoon, still having south winds at 20-35 mph, makes for interesting south bound stretches.

Took wife to doctor appointment this morning for a shot in her wrist (arthritis related) then we went shopping (got to go to a LBS I hadn't been to before, really nice place but I like the help where I bought my bike). I bought a couple of things at the LBS, including an "undershirt" that is a barrier but also wicks sweat. Really like it. After a late lunch we came home and I got ready to go ride but by then it was running late. So I fell short of my goal of eight miles every time I ride and only did 6.3 miles. Didn't want to be out after dark since I do have to ride some on the streets (had my flashing tail-light going anyway). Except for a lunch with one of our church musicians tomorrow I have an open afternoon to ride so I hope to do better....weather permitting.

Twenty miles at the MUP on the hybrid today. Got to go on some off roads and do some exploring, something I can't do on the road bike. An excellent day and a very good ride.

In between the fog and doctor's appointments we were able to get 25 miles in on the local MUP. Super weather in North Central Florida just makes you want to spend time outside. It's nice when it happens this early in the year. From what we are hearing reality sets in next week with more average temps.. bring out the long pants... bummer.

Yesterday I got in a rainy and windy ride, it was great to get out and feel the wind across my face and spin a bit. Looks like wet rides for the next few days then it will be two days off while we go to Atlanta.

As with most things.... the time has come for our run of spring weather to come to an end. Today is to be the last of the 80's sunny weather in North Central Florida for a while. So we did 31 miles on the trail today. Then took the new bikes to the LBS for a quick tune and new saddles as they have over 200 miles on them since pick up last week.

It was cool and windy here today but was about 40f when I went out to ride. According to Strava I did 9.1 miles, which puzzles me. My bike computer said 9.3 miles, before I synced Strava the app said 9.2 miles but synced it as 9.1 miles. I have noticed before there is almost always a difference between my Cateye and Strava and I thought Strava was losing 1/10 of a mile when I sync it so I was careful in looking at it today.

Today I hit a milestone, I have a couple of miles over 100 on my bike. I think the saddle is getting broken in as it felt more comfortable today (I also made a very minor adjustment in the saddle angle yesterday which may be making a difference. And I am still enjoying the riding, even if I don't enjoy the wind.

Bikes: All mine are electric bikes now

Not sure how many miles to bike around Key West, but that's what my sister and I did this morning - on a matched pair of pink Trek beach bike rentals with their big old whitewall balloon tires pumped to the max per my request. Stopped to see the old house we'd lived in back in 1960, then stopped again for a fruit slushy. That afternoon rode the bikes to the beach, the beach chairs slung over our shoulders.

I'm guessing 7 miles?? Total.

Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention - 80 degrees, sunny, bright, hot, with a nice breeze off the ocean.

Great day for my first outdoor ride in Calgary in this new year - sunny and relatively warm @ 0 degrees C. Rode 29 kms mostly on bike paths that ranged from perfectly dry to wet to ice covered. Pleasant surprise of the day was finding $20 in my jacket pocket - hadn't worn the jacket for a few months.

Well, yes, but on a trainer. The owner of my LBS is letting me borrow a trainer from his shop. He knows I have 2 centuries coming this Spring, April 20 and May 11, and the weather has, well, sucked. He knows I've been chomping at the bit to get back on the bike so he's letting me borrow, free. I did an hour on the trainer....harder than I thought.

Yesterday was my no-ride day for the week. I was looking forward to a nice ride today since I got the bike out of the shop with a new chain and new tires. Last night on the news the weatherman said today should be sunny-partly cloudy with temps in the low-mid 70's, winds at 7-10 mph and 20% chance of rain. Oh no! temps are in the low-mid 60's (currently 61º), winds at 20-24 mph (currently 20 mph) and it's been raining all day. Gotta love those weather forecasters.
