13 miles on the tandem after work this afternoon. Sunny and upper 80's. Breathing hard climbing our local hill - 5 mph is harder work than the 3-4 mph we used to climb it at.

26 miles this AM using a lower gear--spinning like a hamster on an exercise wheel.

20.5 miles after I got home from work yesterday, with my 2 boys @ 16.5mph. After a gourmet meal , made by my better half, of baked clams, sautéed scallops, fresh from the garden string beans and tomato salad. They want to go out again this morning before work, they're killing me:)

Variation on the regular route. Home to Marshal, NC. and back. 39miles and 3680ft climbing. Got held up by mowing crew on the curves and hills above Marshal. Got a snake-bite flat when I hit a pot-hole. Got the great, giant, to die for, brownie from Zuma Coffee in Marshal. Brought half home for my wife who is working today. It's always amusing to watch her mixed emotions about eating the brownie ;) Calorie or not to calorie!!

20 miles in another new city, London KY. Nice ride. Everyone was very tolerant of the roady in their midst.

NealH and I took out our mtbs and rode 44 miles with nearly 4000 ft of climbing today in Smoky Mountain NP. The NPS has kept the Balsam Mt Rd closed all season, which is a 17 mile gravel road/doubletrack through the heart of the Park. Access to this section is gained by riding 5 miles on the closed paved Heintooga Rd. It has just over 1000 ft of climbing on the way up. Beautiful day and arm warmers were needed for more than half the ride. Saw a coyote family, some turkeys and a nice whitetail doe. Oh, and only one maintenance worker on the whole ride. Fun time!

Another very hot and very windy day. Cut four miles off the normal route to beat the rain that never came.
|
Well, yes I did ride today.
Okay, okay. I rode this over to Watertown to check the PO box. http://world.std.com/~muller/pics/Bertin_2013.jpg |
Today's ride was to a farm stand in the next town over for tomatoes and corn, maybe 12 miles round trip, then a dip in my husband's big kiddie pool to cool off, bike clothes and all. A good way to end the day.

45.9 @ 15.4 ave on a group ride yesterday... didnt get time to log it then (but it is on strava)

17 miles, had to cut my ride a bit short as the rail trail I was on is along Fountain Creek, which over ran it's banks last night and deposited lot's of thick MUD on the trail past Garden of the Gods Road.
|
A little under 20 km on my road bike - had cut the usual route short because of street repairs and detours.

40.5 miles 2600ft climbing on the Toe River/Jacks Creek there and back ride with my wife. Beautiful day! Cool first half and then the sun came out and warmed things up only to be cooled down with a brief shower and then clouds. Great NC mountain scenery and fairly flat ride for our area.

No ride today, but did go for a walk with my wife past the farm stand. They had a "pie" sign out - reminded me of the up coming pie ride. |
No hills today. Flat 20 mile round trip to and from work.
|
No.

came home with a semi-good attitude about riding, but the longer I sat at the computer, the worse my attitude got. I finally said "the heck with it" and put my gear on. The mental attitude carried over into the ride. I struggled to make 13 miles today on the same route I did 22 last Sunday with ease. Must have been the phase of the moon, bio-rythyms, who knows?

30 miles this AM. Needed arm warmers for the first 1/2 of the ride--it's getting cooler.

16 miles starting before sunrise. The view from 4 miles out at 7:15; makes the early morning effort all worthwhile. :thumb:

53 miles on a club ride this morning. Mostly flat Central IN farmland but the last dozen miles were much more varied with more than a few ups and downs. Literally.
|
Headed out at 0335 for 41 miles at 15.6mph average on the grocery grabber with front basket to hold food and drink. Returned to house, showered and clean clothes then out for 63 miles on the Propel.
