Rode 23 miles this morning at 14.3, ever since i started doing a 10 minute warm up and 10 minute cool down to my ride my avg time has gone down by at least 1 mph, but at least it's better to ride this way.

Easy 16 miles @16 mph with a late-ride stop at Starbucks for a small hot chocolate (can't stand Starbuck's coffee). I love the fact that with my new saddle I can get on the bike on the days after a longish (50+ mile ride) without my butt hurting. There is no underestimating the joy associated with a happy backside!

Yahoo! You'll be getting quads like Ironman if you don't have them already.

Did a 50 mile, 4k elev ride in Harriman, including back-to-back ascents of Bear Mt (each ascent is 4 mi, 1300').
Late in the day, a guy flipped his sportscar on the main road. The cops held me up for an hr while they got the guy out (in pretty good shape).

Another 22 mile commute today in very nice Fall weather. By that I mean moderately cool and dry.

Since I can only ride after work, with the days getting shorter I'm doing a 22 mile loop in Gainesville, FL. Some heavy traffic areas, but also some nice country roads. A few hills (ok, bumps) makes it more interesting. The end of daylight savings time will put this to an end, but there is the wonderful Hawhorne trail for the weekends. And the oppressive summer heat has given way to really enjoyable cycling conditions.

No ride yesterday due to some medical issues the wife was having. A very nice 35 mile ride this morning with great weather for riding.

Forty miles in Harriman, 3k elev. I did more than half the hills standing, nice workout. Very scenic around the lakes with the Autumn leaves.
FWIW, I reported four all-white birds to the authorities. They came up to me looking for a handout and even jumped up on my car, obviously not wild animals.

Toledo & South Bend business road trip. Ride were shorter 12 and 15 miles due to weather. But still cool riding in new cities.

Another beautiful day for riding in Florida. A great 35 mile ride, this morning, at a pretty empty MUP for a Saturday. There must be some big event going on in the area and everyone went to it.

Did the shorter 55+ mile version of the Santa Fe Century in Gainesville, FL. I was tempted to make the left turn at the 55/100 split and try for the century.....and now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have tried to spend another two and a half hours in the saddle. Surprisingly, what hurts me is my feet. Back, legs and butt feel pretty good. Guess I'm gonna get new riding shoes and practice up a bit more.

I'm also going to lengthen my stem a bit. Sometimes it takes longer rides to really be able to dial in the fit.....

Rode 30 miles, with one hill (300 ft, but with a "headwall at the end"). Really felt good throughout (except my knee warmer kept slipping. Should have worn tights). Averaged 15.5, with an average cadence of 83. I'm working on the cadence.

22.5 miles around Princeton and the D&R canal. Here's a pic of Carnegie Lake from earlier today. A little on the gray side but with a nice chill in the air.
