Thursday 11/05/09 Yes, Had a Dr. appointment at 9:30 am today for a B-12 shot so I rode to the Dr office and then jumped on the trail for an easy 22 mi. Weather was just great. Mid 70s when I got back home. Boy when they put that B12 directly into your blood stream it really makes a difference.

One-way 42 mile ride on the tandem yesterday (Wednesday). Headwind the entire way:cry: Spent a good deal of time in the drops, but good for building character.

Im thinking rather than my injoyable winter trip to sail and bike the titusville area of Florida.Seein ive never been west of the Mississippi, I might go to the warm flat lands of the Texas gulf coast and dash about showin those Texans how hillfolk streak across the boreing flat tar./Kenneth

63 miles in 3 hours 28 minutes.
Great weather this week, in the fifties with 10-15 mph west winds. Michael |
:thumb:Got in a ride today, 20-25 miles, under thin clouds but the temps good enough for "short's and short sleeve's" Mainly cruising several paths but this run is bit more of a "training" ride for a weenie leg like me as it has a lot of "uphill grades". Stopped at a shop right on the Pikes Peak Greenway (ie: Criterium Bicycles), had a Granola bar and watched different rides come and go. Headed back home under clouds and of course as I finished my ride the SUN came out. Oh well it was sweet to get in a November Ride is Southern Colorado and not be bundled up!!:D

I got my 25 miles in today, riding to work and back. I also rode to work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Since I'm not working tomorrow, I can say that I rode to work every work day this week. I hope the weather is good again next week; I'm enjoying this commuting by bike.
|
After nearly six weeks off the bike [sick] I rode 9 miles to pick up my new (2000 model) car from the shop. The day was glorious, crisp, and sunny. I felt like a soggy heap of gym clothes. When I start commuting next week I'll ride my Bionx assist CX bike - hopefully that will get me back into the habit.
|
I rode the perimeter of the Newcastle lot in two inches of fresh snow with the west wind blowing the snow from the trees down upon me. As I rode I smiled at the thought of those Texans wearing out skinny little tires on the flat desert lands of the gulf coast of Texas and TenWheels perched sippin Tea in the warm desert breeze./Kenneth////I worked the stove wood of this beautiful lot until I was chilled and wet from the snow from the trees //Its to be much better weather for a few days.

While im thinking of it;. The bike I use for rough woodlot rideing is a very low geared Alu Access;A bike that is regarded by some as too light for hard mntbike work I weigh 230lbs.and pound this little bike mercilessly and can find know fault with it./Kenneth

Temp 72 - no record today. Eased into a ride. Here I am stopped at one of my favorite places, feeding myself double chocolate-dipped peanuts. The bridge to nowhere, because it stops on the other side.
This is where I watched a coyote attempt to have a duckling for lunch, and the mother would not hear of it. AFter about 10 minutes, the coyote gave up. No unroasted duck today!! |

Ms Recycle and I took a 15 miler out into what's left of the corn fields today. We headed straight south into a 20 mph head wind. It took 50 minutes to get to the turn around point and only 35 minutes to ride the wind back home. I am always amazed at how quiet it is riding with the wind.

14 miles on the Coyote River Trail in San Jose, CA. Saw a wild boar; when it saw me, it ran into the brush.

Freaky! Your wedding band is excatly(or super close) like mine, although I no longer wear it as I am divorced. wow
Back on topic, cool pictures and double-chocolate dipped peanuts...yum! Got another one, but it wore through. This is my 3rd one - but just one marriage. That's my Windsor Leeds $275 (new - ebay) "utility road bike." It weighs a ton, but is my grocery, etc., bike. I put new wheels on it last year. http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...1&d=1257540694 |

I once lost a LOT of weight, and my former plain gold band slipped off my finger, literally, nd was lost in the lawn. Reminds me of Hansel and Gretel.

HA HA ;GREAT POSTS/// I worked hard getting two cord loads of firewood ready for market, all the while eyeing the bike. The perimeter roads snow has turned to patches of ice; saturday is a busy deer hunting day;and a temp. of 38*F detered me from a ride but with more wood to do on Sunday;and no hunting plus the ice on the road should have soaked into the still warm ground Im thinking ill make my ride to the deer meadow to check the beaver ponds to see deep holes to fish when the ice comes./Kenneth

Had a great 23 mile ride with my son today. Boy am I glad I brought my bike along to Dayton. Weather was just about perfect, mid 60's, but on the windy side. First ride on my new bike too, awesome!
|
Pure co-incidence but rode my age. Rode into work by the inland route as it is fairly flat. Headwind of about 10mph all the way and was late getting up so had to push it a bit. Or a bit too hard for comfort. Then a 1/2 mornings work as I am on a weeks holiday next weeek. Then took the scenic route back that is along the coast but a few up and down bits on that bit. 33 miles in and 29 back in good weather (No rain)
