I'm doing 10 miles today: 5 miles into town for lunch, a little shopping and a stop at the library, then back home.
On Tuesday I did a 35 mile round trip commute to work. I got there on time, but made a short stop to vote. A candidate offered to watch my bike as I was locking up. He said I didn't need to do that. I quipped that "Hey, I hear there are politicians about!" He at least had the good grace to laugh. Still didn't vote for him, though. Kevin |

Why the leggings? I would be burning up. But, nice pics. |
63.4 miles in 3:20 at the Tour de Tugaloo in Ga./S.C. Beautiful day for a ride. Started in knee and arm warmers but stripped all that off at 22 miles. Rode in my summer kit the rest of the way with temps in the mid 60s. The route had lots of rollers and a few steep short climbs. Very pretty ride and almost zero traffic. :thumb:

47 miles in the Massanutten Fun Ride. Strange that the ride was billed as 55 miles, but was obviously measured incorrectly.

Bill is 76 y/o. He can do what ever he wants. Retired Air Force Vietnam Veteran. The humidity (78 to 99% Today) makes it damp and feels cooler then where you live. Funny thing here, when the temps drop to 40* some cars won't start. |
Thanks.
I don't wear leggings until about 48-50F, generally, if it is sunny. But, as you said, he can wear anything he wants. Good for him. |

That "sunny" part makes a huge difference!!

Well I finally rode for the first time this month! 34 miles on the Indian Head Rail Trail , a 13 mile trail from White Plains Md. to Indian Head Md. I did a out and back from my house.
Weather was in upper 50', maybe low 60's but had some wind. It was nice though and I loved it. wildlife seen...1 groundhog a box turtle and 3 bald eagles! cool stuff |
Today was awesome! Great sun, little traffic. I took my 15 mile, in town, training route that includes a few stop signs but is generally rolling with a few good climbs and about three - four miles of level ground ridge riding. This was my warm up for tomorrow's trip to a 7 mile trail around a local lake, total distance will be 25 miles.

10.5 mile mountain bike ride. An absolutely beautiful day.
|
An amazing unseasonably warm late fall day for Minnesota - 63°F, bright sunshine and 8 MPH winds from the west. I did 40.5 miles with about 1000 feet of climbing. It felt GREAT.

25 flat-to-rolling mostly rural miles yesterday. Breezy but indeed unseasonably warm.
|
On Sat., got in a nice 20 miler with the Mrs., mostly sunny with high clouds and at times a brisk breeze. The best part of the ride was stopping at our LBS and picking up a used 20in. girls bicycle for our grandaughter, even found a "pink" seat, road back home to get the car and carrier to get the new to her bike over to our Son's place, a very good day! :)

There were many bikers and horse riders about on this lovely mild Sunday; Today was a busy tireing affair clearing snowshoe trails and bikeing the lower trails near what is called the Deer Meadow. I saw wild turkeys /two deer/ beaver damms[no beaver]wild black ducks/small flock of canada geese/two blue herons and many tweety birds on there way south and an eagle looking things over./Kenneth

Just completed a 35 mile ride along the Chicago Lakefront with more than a dozen Classic & Vintage Bikeforum people. I rode my 1972 Schwinn Paramount. Perfect sunny weather near 70f and light winds.
What a great ride and a great group. We stopped for beer & burgers and really enjoyed it all. I'll post pictures soon. Michael |
42 mile club ride from the tony Grosse Pointes thru gritty Dee-troit, lunch in the Mexican town area, return. Rode my 85 Super Le Tour. Beautiful sunny 63 deg F weather brought out at least 30 of us.

A bright and sunny day for 40 mile ride this morning. It feels good to be out and back on the bike again. Surprisingly, not that many riders took advantage of the nice biking weather.
|
An absolutely perfect day for riding. Sunny, low 70s, barely any wind. I took a roundabout 25 mile route to my parents' house where I had lunch with them and my wife. Then I took a different route home and finished with 53 miles.
|
Got up late after working last night, so I haven't ridden yet. Watching football, but planning on riding a little later. Blasted out a quick 12 before work yesterday. Does that count?
|
Great day for a ride. Sunny 65 degrees and very little wind. Only rode 35 miles, but could have just keep on going. It seems everyone was out today.

By this time of year, you have to treat every nice day as if it were going to be the last one of the year. The leaves are nearly gone, but it got to almost 70F to day, so a bunch of us got together. Nice and laid back. Well, I was, anyway!

I call this one, "Field of Beans." http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...g?t=1257724144 A little chapel out in the country: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...g?t=1257724283 |
11.6 miles yesterday and 15.3 today. 60's, light breeze. This was an absolutely gorgeous day! Saturday was just the south loop of the Bur Sage loop, today I added the north loop. Met some good people as well.
