9.6 miles in 44 minutes. Got my legs back finally.

Miami Biker 05-26-14 02:25 PM

Today 56 at 17.5 MPH into Redlands, just two of us although joined three for five miles into the wind.

Saturday did 52 at (my) record of 19.5 with large group! Nice to improve as approach 70.

Twenty-six today, solo on the Ox road sidepath here in NOVA. Air was clearer or maybe it's because the trail is not lined with foliage on both sides. Saturday on the W&OD was sheer misery.

Good for you. I'd like to think I'll be doing half centuries at 19.5 when I approach 70.

Groan. You guys with your 60-70-100 milers @ 25mph make this ol' fool feel like a wimp with my paltry 22 miles @12-15mph.
But what the hey... it's really an individual thing, nes pas? As long as we're riding (he says sheepishly).

It's an individual thing. We are all doing what we are able.

Today I was limited by responsibilities. I badly wanted to go on a group ride and crank out 40 or 50 miles, but there was too much to do and so I limited myself to 27 in the morning. I wish I had had more time....

Thanks MinnMan. Just riding road bike for 2.5 years so still growing up. Found a wonderful club who go 18 to 23 or so and have been working to not be dropped. Now two rides have kept up at 19 and the 19.5. Otherwise do upto 17+ alone! to 18.5 with two and over 19 in larger group. Wonderful feeling to breeze along in group at 21 or more for a while! Trainer has helped.

Two years ago was doing 14 and last year about 15, so new bike and new trainer have helped.

No ride today. It was spent with my wife and it was much nicer. Yesterday's ride was 44 very hot (in the 90's) ride in the morning. The only salvation was a low humidity but there wasn't much of a wind to help cool you off. Then my two riding buddies came over the house last night for a good ole' Italian dinner. Lots of fun!

No bicycling at all yesterday. Today, did 70 miles around the area with a few breaks and one crash. I learned I cannot hop even a 2" curb with my front wheel parallel. Makes sense now but at the time seemed it would work.

5-24-14 43+ miles from OSU campus area to two area metro parks and back to campus. With my son and his girlfriend. Mostly MUP riding.

5-26-14 20 solo miles around my suburb.

Chance of rain/storms today so drove to work, expecting rain in the evening, too. Of course, no rain yet today - did get out for an 11 mile ride before dinner. Legs are starting to feel stronger, as opposed to just tired and sore after two 50 mile rides over the weekend.

42 miles today.. Wind was not bad but it was still there.. 1100 feet elevation gained and average speed of 15.3 mph

02Giant 05-28-14 07:45 AM

Got out at 5:45 this morning, rode 16.3 mi. @ 19.8 mph. My time/speed is a little better than what shows, with the cool mornings I can't get the touch screen to respond.

az_cyclist 05-28-14 09:00 AM

12.4 @ 18.6 ave in a ride before work.

John_V 05-28-14 02:01 PM

44 miles this morning with warm temps, low humidity and pretty strong winds. Took it easy with the winds today as I still have 4 more 35-45 mile rides left on this week's set.

JanMM 05-28-14 08:53 PM

12 miles this evening after work.

h2oxtc 05-28-14 10:40 PM

20 mile ride yesterday ... a lovely ride along the lake. Got back just before the wind and rain blew in.

John_V 05-29-14 03:08 PM

A very nice morning for a 35 mile ride. Temps were a bit cooler than the past few days and the humidity was down. Good ride.

MinnMan 05-30-14 12:43 PM

(Yesterday, not today)

I was headed out to do a tranquil "B" group ride and spontaneously took a turn and instead went to a different ride with the same club - the notorious hill climbing ride that includes most of the tough hills around St. Paul. (Don't laugh, I know it's puny compared to what's available at places with real topography). Anyway, in my gradual march back to fitness, I hadn't yet dared to go on this ride, but it worked out just fine. I felt pretty good on most of the hills, but I was very tired in the last few miles. My Garmin somehow crapped out on me, but from past experience I believe that the evening was about 37 miles with ~2000 ft. of climbing, most of which is in 7 specific hills.

Not yet but will be cycling to a campsite on the Ohio & Erie Canal after work today, setting up camp then riding into peninsula Ohio and seeing some live music at the GAR hall. Afterward riding back to camp and hope to meet new friends around the campfire, and biking out the next morning. Sweet huh?

John_V 05-30-14 05:21 PM

Very muggy morning after last nights rain. A good 44 mile ride this morning to give me 204 miles for the week and one more day to go. Legs are a bit tired.

Sweet indeed! That sounds awesome.

All I did today was my commute, a nice ride in and a wet ride home.

raqball 05-30-14 06:36 PM

43 miles today with about 1300 feet of elevation gained. Average speed came in at 14.4'ish.. A little windy but not horrible..

JimF22003 05-31-14 01:32 AM

3 days off because of rain and work, so even the bike path sounded like fun. 35 miles in the coolish sun. Berry nice ride.

02Giant 05-31-14 12:31 PM

34 miles @ 20.2 average. First time this year to average >20 mph.

John_V 05-31-14 02:02 PM

Temps in the low/mid 80's this morning with 5 mph winds. Excellent morning for a nice 44 mile ride with my buddies Frank and Lou. Another one planned for tomorrow.
