50 miles- a 30 mile club ride and 10 miles each way to the ride start/end. I really like it when I can do this. I don't mind driving to club rides on the weekend, but at the end of a workday just at rush hour, the last thing I want to do is to get in my car, fighting traffic, hoping I get to the ride start by the appointed time. I also really like the extra miles.

An extra layer on the legs last night to keep them nice an toasty while I slept. This morning they were feeling great and back to normal. A hot and humid 45 mile ride in 90* temps.

In spite of several setbacks and questionable weather I managed to get in two separate rides today for 14mi. I thought April was supposed to be the rainy month.

87 miles, 8.2K of climbing, including the brutal Vesuvius climb up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I've done this climb nine or ten times before, but this is the first time I almost had to stop because I just couldn't physically keep the pedals going around, it was so steep. I'm using a 50/34 crank with an 11/28 cassette. I guess it's time to break down and get some lower gearing.

Or I could lose 20 pounds.

20 miles this morning with a buddy who is faster then me. Really enjoy riding with good bikers. Averaged 19 mph. I'll get faster riding with him on Saturdays.

Did another 18 miles with my wife this afternoon.

Jim F, I'm with you on needing to drop twenty and I will this summer.

I checked out the link - nice ride. Only I'd go stir crazy without any hills to ride.

Awesome month for the miles. I looked at my total for this month - I rode more miles in February (not on the trainer).

With the miles/climbing you ride, I can't believe that you aren't a stick already - even now knowing where you started from. I just switched to compact with 11/28 and can still comfortably ride a 15% grade with one more gear left for another birthday or two. I'm still in awe of your ride posts.

Another 22 mile day ... are you ever tempted to ride around the block and make it 22.5?

Yes, I do vary the route home. On May 19, the total was 23 miles.

Another 90* plus and very humid ride today. 52 miles with my buddy, Frank. Really brutal crosswinds toward the end of the ride.

It's not nice for Mother Nature to fool you. It's a 3 mile ride to the river bike path and at 3.1 miles it started to rain. I was already there and encountered my slow-rider friend so I did 15 miles in the rain. As soon as I got home - sunshine. Humph.

Took off on a 53 miler yesterday. First 15 went great but it was that 20mi stretch near the Lake Michigan shoreline that was brutal. The winds were a steady 20-25mph with prolonged 40mph gusts. I had to granny gear and hang on. I was worried that a jogger could have dropped me. Anyways, the final 15mi went well.....and I am one more ride toward BEASTHOOD.

Rode with my buddy Ozzie this morning. It was another over 90º day with moderate humidity and no clouds to help with the heat. We ended up doing 40 miles and were just beaten up by the easterly winds we've had for the past two days. Tomorrow will be a rest day.

Sunshine today after several days of rain. Nice easy 16 mile ride with a couple of friends, shorts and bike shirt. Summer might actually get here.

P.S. Went out for another 6 miles on the trike. Then it rained again.
