Trainer Time - Rainy day intervals. 21 pseudo miles. To keep things in perspective at this time of year before I retired I'd have been on the trainer most of the week since it would be dark and cold by the time I got home. Retirement agrees with me.:thumb:

it's a nice well maintained trail that's only crowded on Saturday mornings. Head north of 52 past County Line Rd and it gets "hilly" - for Florida.

Probably won't get down there till next summer, but if I can find a decent used bike I will have to check that out.

Only time for errands lately, but managing to work in 15-30 minutes by taking the long routes and riding unpaved rough trails and open fields. Slow going but sure works the legs.

26.4 miles one again, still cloudy here. With 100% humidity I am grateful that its cool temps, otherwise it would be pretty stiff to ride. Winds were kinder today.

On the ride to work this morning, stopped behind a Ford Fusion Titanium at a downtown Indy stoplight. Wondered why they covered up all the titanium body panels with paint??? :lol:

over 4 miles today day and 12 for the week so far can't wait to get on the bike another day

43 miles with the Tampa Bay Wounded Warriors. Great ride with a bunch of great guys.

Approximately 12 mile ramble west of Fort Worth, mostly to explore some off-road diversions along the recently flooded creeks looking for photogenic stuff. And still trying to find terrain - within reason and my riding limitations - the new Michelin Protek Cross Max can't handle. So far, so good.

The sun actually showed up yesterday, made for a sweet ride. Temps were excellent, 73°F, and negligible winds. 26.4 miles in the log book.

Yesterday was grey and windy but the temps were mild in the mid 50's. Got in 35.4 miles @ 16.4 mph with 1135 feet. My cranky hip is starting to get old. As we all know old bones take a long time to heal :rolleyes:

Nice 37 mile, solo ride this morning. Cool and foggy start that quickly turned into hot and humid. :(

qcpmsame 11-13-15 07:56 AM

Went out early yesterday (for me,) wanted to get ahead of the forecast winds for the afternoon, 26+ miles. Got caught in the wind shift, from the west to the northwest, and the pick up in speed ahead of the cold front. At least it was a tailwind for the final bit home.

Yep, I rode today. I rode to work.
14 miles in.
54*
8-9 MPH head wind coming across the water
Cycling shorts
Two layers of thin shirts
Fingerless gloves
1 hour
Chilly!
Backpack with office clothes
I should have worn a little more for a more comfortable ride in.

Will be much better going home this afternoon. Should be a bout 65*.

John_V 11-13-15 10:57 AM

Very windy this morning with some pretty good crosswinds. Had a nice 37 mile solo ride even with the winds tossing me from side-to-side on the trail.

A brisk and beautiful day in Atlanta! I rode my trike a mile each way to work on Wednesday, and today made a 6 mile trip just-for-fun. Explored some new neighborhoods, found a FLAT circle where I could ride around and around without having to resort to my electric assist, and then ventured boldly onto the unpaved part of the Atlanta Beltline (also blissfully FLAT), which goes along disused railroad tracks. It's fine for a fat tire or mountain bike, but there was one place where it was muddy and I had to haul Ugly Betty up ONTO to RR tracks where the ground was solid. I had to haul her OFF again because they haven't removed the ties from the next piece of track! But I worried about a puncture, and made it back to pavement. There is a paved portion of the Beltline, but it is miles from me. I'll get there eventually!

We went from temps in the 70's, yesterday morning, to 59º this morning. WTF? Wind was much harsher this morning as well. Got in another 37 mile solo ride, although I was wanting to do 45. I really didn't feel like fighting the wind for the extra 8 miles.

Hithertofore let it be known that:
- In accordance with the sacred traditions of the Ancient and Honorable 50+ Forum today I have ridden my requisite Birthday Ride;
- That tomorrow being my 67th birthday, music commitments tomorrow forced me to ride my Birthday Ride one (1) day early;
- That I compensated for the extra day by riding an additional six (6) miles further than required, for a total of 73 miles;
- That said Birthday Ride was accomplished on a suitably vintage Masi Gran Criterium;
- That said Birthday Ride was accomplished on a cold and brutally windy day, winds 15mph gusting to 30mph.
I therefore request continuation of my 50+ Forum membership, as I shall always remain at least 50 years old or older.
Additional ride details and pics (without which it didn't happen) can be found here:

Not sure, but your BD accomplishment today may qualify you for riding a bit fewer miles than actual years on this earth next year.
Happy BD!

20 semi-rural miles today - sunny, 50's, breezy.........not your typical November day. 3 deer crossed the road about 500 feet in front of me. They didn't look both ways or pause before crossing.

John_V 11-15-15 10:58 AM

Nice, but very windy 26 mile ride this morning with my riding buddy. Winds, at 9:00 were 17 mph with 30 mph gusts. And of course they had to be headwinds.

02Giant 11-15-15 11:50 AM

39.5 mi. 2:06:51 winds picked up as the ride progressed, the last 15 mi. were tough.

JanMM 11-15-15 03:44 PM

21 suburban/rural miles this afternoon on the tandem with favorite stoker. Beautiful November day in the low 60's with sunshine. (Ain't gonna last...........)
