Nice and warm 50 mile ride today. Temps reached the upper 80s with calm winds.

First ride in over two weeks
Between a ski trip with my younger daughter and the two feet of snow that fell the day before I got back home, I had not been on the bike for over two weeks. But went out today and rode 22 or so miles at a local park with well-plowed roads. Man, it was great out and ride!

WINDY but managed to complete 57 miles. Put some hard pulls into my efforts when it was my turn but they got to me sooner than I had hoped for. Saturday's LBS ride will be a "no stay with the fast group ride" so I can instead get some good distance in.

First ride Thursday evening longer than a mile since a 30 miler last Friday. Getting over some kinda achy bug. Did 12 miles, felt really good and stronger, able to ride a gear higher than usual on most hills. First time in awhile I felt like I'd gotten off the conditioning plateau. Saw a bunch of white tail deer. Did some grocery shopping on the way home. Good day.

Did my commute on Tuesday, then again today. Tomorrow we are getting 6 to 10 inches of the white stuff.

A very windy ride, Thursday afternoon, and the years initial flat tire. I found a nice sharp piece of gravel that did a puncture of the front tire. Swapped out the tube for a fresh one, this time, with no additional holes in it, then managed to finish up my ride. At least the home bound portion was 95% with a tailwind, that outward bound part was tough due to that stiff wind, very gusty at times. 26 miles earned, and logged.

, I always just fold 'em up, then put it in a jersey pocket, I do the patch thing when I get home. As soon as I had changed from my kit, yesterday, I got a fresh tube, and 2 extra CO2 cartridges, into my seat bag. Otherwise it would be a certain flat the next day, and then its the call of shame, or "The Longest Mile" walk home.

Not today but yesterday did 9 miles in 27 degree temps that felt a lot colder. This brings my years total up to 28 miles. I'm all ready ahead of last year!

13 miles with the wife in 45º temps and very strong winds. A far cry from having our A/C on yesterday.

First ride in a week (actually day 8). I'm not going to let a little thing like pneumonia stop me. 20.1 miles on the Roubaix. A friend showed me a new route through mostly UNR land, very little traffic, flat, nice quiet ride. The road is CLEAN WATER WAY with signs posted Sewage Effluent - Reclaimed Water - Do Not Drink. Maybe it should be Not-So-Clean Water Way, but I guess it's okay for the cows.

80 miles including a 7 mile climb. Chilly day. 26 degrees at the start with a high of 41. Boy I sure have a long ways to go to get back in riding form.

Still some snowy/ice patches to pick my way through on the bike path - but do-able. The weather has improved. I don't mind the cold when it's sunny out. 22.8 miles today on the Allez, sore neck and all. Die Hard Rider.

Sunny and mid-forties this afternoon, so out for a 19 mile ride on the Screamer with my favorite stoker.

Another 26 mile afternoon ride for me. Started out with a blue bowl sky, and when I finished up the clouds had begun to gather, nothing dramatic, but probably letting us know that the wind will be shifting, and the humidity will go back up, then it will be time for rain, as another cold front approaches.

Did around 26 roller coaster hilly miles Saturday afternoon, pleasant mid-40s to 50s. A couple of stops for asthma recovery, but overall it feels like my conditioning is improving. And I'm seeing the functional advantages to those fancypants base layers for wicking. Much more comfortable in moderately cool weather than cotton t's. No clammy-chilly feeling.
