Nice day for 38 miles with a group ride. It was cold at 11:00, but quite pleasant by the end of the ride.

With 30.03 miles in the bank yesterday morning I headed out after a quick shower, kit change, bite to eat and switching over from my 35 pound hybrid to my 29 pound 1982 Touring Paramount now with 6" rise steel bars as per my PT's advice following the right shoulder joint replacement a few weeks ago. Hung with the LBS group for 10 miles but when they started to cruise at 26mph that was the end of my drafting. Finished up the rest of the 70 mile ride mostly solo fighting the 15mph to 20 mph winds.

Second 100 miler with the new PAIN FREE shoulder joint and looking forward to the Horrible Hundred Century in Clermont, 2 weeks from today.

First ride today was a Ride of Silence organized by Bicycle Indiana in honor of a cyclist killed a few weeks ago on the shoulder of State Road 37, not far from where I live. 50+ cyclists showed up to ride in her honor and in support of her family, several of whom attended. 2.5 mile ride, with a stop at the ghost bike next to the collision site. Multiple Indy Police cars escorted us on the ride - we were able to safely ride two abreast on the highway. (There was some honking by annoyed motorists as the ride was concluding.)

Later, rode with my stoker on a 13 mile tandem ride.

Doesn't look as if these NE, 25 mph winds are going to stop anytime soon. Rode with my teammate, Matt, this morning on the Suncoast Trail. Headed due north going out for 21 miles with a nasty right sided crosswind so we did an easy chit chat ride to the ball park where we were turning around. Figured it would really be easier going back but we had the same crosswind except on our left side and not the tailwind we were expecting. Still managed to get in several 20+ mph sprints, on the return ride, when the wind wasn't blowing us across the path.

I rode 31 miles of gravel rail trail on my mtb Friday, 38 miles with the road bike club and another 32 today with some friends.
So, about a 100 mile weekend with pretty decent weather for this time of year in the Catskill Mountains.

38 miles on the MUP down to Cumming IA on the Great Western trail. Flat and easy. It was a beautiful day, in the 60s with plenty of sunshine.

42 miles today along the Mississippi River out of Hastings, MN. That's Minnesota... in November!? Temperatures in the 60's and people were carrying on as though it were the middle of July.

I was riding my new (to me) "Roadsterized" Ross Aristocrat on it's first shakedown run, and stopped frequently to tweak this and fix that. It was absolutely brilliant on the way back to town!

Ninety miles Saturday with nearly 3,000 feet of elevation. Fifty miles today, with 1,600 elevation gain. I guess the stents are doing their job!

I took several short rides today, working on various bikes. My favorite ride was on my 1989 Bridgestone MB-5.

What a beauty! And a great photograph too.

An MB1 or, if I'm really lucky an MB-Zip, are 2 of my "Grail" bikes. That was the golden era of rigid mountain bikes, in my opinion. We've had a couple MB2s come up for sale locally just recently, and I was sorely tempted; but I'm going to hold out for the ones I really want.

Took my (now) rackless Raleigh out for a meandering run to the park and back, with a pit stop at our local Chinese Buffet.

23.9 miles on the Tarmac SL (2006 S-Works frame, restored w/105 shifters/derailleurs, Ultegra 39/53 12-30 running gear, Mavic Aksium bladed wheels, Continental Ultra Sport II tires). This has become my favorite bike. I wouldn't trade the Roubaix for it, but, well, it's just fun! The Weather Wimp Kiwanis Coffee Riders cancelled the usual Monday ride, but it was 52° at 9AM and warmed up quickly. Beautiful day.

22 miles in the rain Monday night, including errands. Reasonably pleasant overall, with the exception of being right hooked by a driver paying more attention to her cell phone than the road. Managed to avoid a miles-long traffic jam in a semi-rural location where I've never seen traffic backed up before. Presumably an accident but I didn't hang around to find out.

Took the newer Tarmac SL3 out today for 15.3 miles. Dunno why but it was a struggle to maintain 15mph. I think it's some of the multiple meds I'm on. My daily med box looks like a pharmacy exploded. But overall another nice day.

2016: 4,579m (7370k) Total: 14,200m (22,853k)· Tarmac SW SL3 496m (798k)

Can't seem to get past these 40 miles rides this month. Did another one today, half with my riding buddy and half solo. Winds weren't too bad until 3/4 of the way into the ride, which made Steve's recovery ride, from Sunday, pretty nice.

Went for a 32 miler on the Silver Comet on Saturday, wearing my Alabama Crimson Tide team jersey and riding my Alabama Crimson Tide decalled Fetish. I heard "Roll Tide" numerous times.
Fortunately, Roll they did!!
Sneaky grades on the Comet....600 total feet of elevation change in 32 miles.
Nice change of pace ride.

Sorry to hear that there is snow to deal with midway into Fall.
Nothing like there here today in Indiana. Rode to and from work but took the afternoon in order to vote without long lines so the ride home was noonish and the streets were wonderfully not as they are in rush hour.

Broke the 40 mile ride run that I've had this week. Watching the election returns kept me up way too late then I couldn't go to sleep. This morning I was still tired so I did a nice 26 mile ride with the wife. Temps were nice and cool, little wind and an overcast sky.
