Had another super windy solo ride this morning. Winds with 27 mph continuous gusts made for a really good workout; especially over 40 miles of riding in them.

I wimped out and did a bunch of hand sawing and machete chopping of small trees and Brazilian Pepper crappola . No power for this OldTryGuy.

18.9 miles (30.4k). Sunshine and warm(ish - 40s). Still trying to get the high blood pressure (on 2 meds) and foot swelling down. Riding helps some.

I commuted today. Super-wet morning...though it wasn't actually "raining" per se. More like Extremely Heavy Misting: The precipitation didn't appear to be falling from the sky, it was just sort of hanging there. It was like a cross between cycling through a cloud, and cycling under water.

I'll wind up with the usual ~19 miles when I get home tonight.

61 miles on a 62°day. I didn't give one seconds thought to riding around the neighborhood 1 more mile to make it 62 and a metric century.
There was a time long ago when I would have. But I was ready for the ride to be over. But 99K is as good as 100k these days.
I don't know how to dress for this 62° weather. I was over dressed for the first two hours, then I striped down to short sleeved jersey and shorts. It felt very liberating, but within an hour my arms were cold, but I finished the ride like that. It's going to be the same temps for the rest of the week, I'll have to figure out how to dress. It's been a long winter.

Almost a FULL MOON greeted me at 2:46AM today for my 62 miler. Stars shining, few clouds, hardly a breeze and courteous drivers. Paradise in SW FL.

Maybe I should start my rides at 2:30 AM. Got started at 9:00 AM today and the gusts were already at 27 mph. They didn't get any better as the ride progressed. Another very windy 40 miles. After 4 days and 190 miles of riding in these winds, my legs were feeling it after today's ride.

With a very cool NW wind and mostly cloudy skies the temperature was supposed to get up to 60 F, but it felt a lot cooler.
Got in 106 minutes.

Truly a great day in the PNW.
Slidin in the mornin, ridin in the afternoon.

And the eagles have returned.

Two rides Friday: 35 miles in the afternoon, maximum effort to beat my previous best times on some tough segments (and did); then another 38 miles at a casual pace with friends. Could barely move my legs the last couple of miles home in granny gear. Closest I've come to walking the bike home or just collapsing in the street. On the plus side, it confirmed my determination earlier Friday to make that first ride a genuinely maximum effort, leaving nothing in the tank. And that's what I had in the tank going home later. Nothing.

LONG SLEEP overnight, was still really zapped from yesterday's AM ride of 62 miles. Managed to collect my thoughts and get out for 50 miles this morning. Some with the LBS group but most by myself at a reasonable pace. Cross Florida next Sunday.

15.3 miles (24.6k). Turned around and went back to put on a windbreaker, overcast and cooler than anticipated. I had new wheel bearings put in the Fulcrum front wheel on the Roubaix Ex. What a difference—smooooth.

Just got home... I rode from my house down to the James River here in Richmond, VA and back. Total: 14.85 miles in 1 hr 2 min for an (avg) speed of 14.4 mph. I stopped briefly at the Z-Dam along the river and shot a quick video with my smartphone:

Second day in a row with a nice ride on a really nice, spring day with a more seasonal 70 F temperature.
I wanted to make sure I got in a good workout today, because tomorrow it's off to the relatives house with all that great, rich, fattening holiday food. Got in 2 hours and 32 minutes.

46 miles yesterday; relatively warm (upper 40s and low 50s). It was great to be out. Hoping to ride today but its low to mid 30s and 20 mph wind. We'll see....

I consider it nature's E-bike.

Spring is springing in Seattle area!
Full sun and mid-50s is a lot warmer than cloudy and mid-50s, especially with a black jersey.

21.0 miles (33.8k). Nice sunny day but damn, the air was still too cold. Since I had the derailleurs tweaked the Roubaix Pro is like driving a Bentley!

31 miles this morning before riding to my daughter’s house for Easter dinner. I would have liked to do a few more miles but had to be at her house to shower before the other guests arrived.

42 miles. I rode for an hour up towards the ski resort, crested a long steep hill and was blasted by fierce Arctic cold wind and rain. Turned around got back where it was warm and sunny, rode North a few miles and headed West again towards the mountains. Same thing happened. So I ended riding around for another hour and headed home. A lot of climbing today, with 35+ mph descents.

39 miles Sunday for an Easter Fools ride with friends I hadn't seen for awhile. Chilly and windy but warm company made up for it.

You're a better man than I, 75' of a 1.2% grade up over the I-80 and I'm all in.

13.9 miles (22.4k). Intermittent clouds and windy. I'm such a wind-wimp.
