14.7 on the MTB before work this morning. Its cold for us desert dwellers. Very few riders out there. I felt like I was dressed like a hockey goalie. But it feels so good!

No ride today. No ride tomorrow. Saturday: bus ride to LBS to pick up the Trek Allant diamond frame I put a deposit on yesterday on the way to work. "Black Pearl" seems to be making itself known as the name for this one.

Today was both Functional and Fast
Senior Discount day at the local Harris Teeter, is a must for and is usually planned as a "rest" day. This said it is also a great, relatively flat ride with little traffic. Ideal for working on my spin.

The 12 lb grocery load on the return trip did not prohibit my spin work on the return trip. So todays ride was very productive producing 7.5 miles of fast spinning in 38 minutes. While still overcast the temp was about 60 F. Evidence of rain from earlier today remained requiring a little caution especially around wet leaves.

First ride since Sunday...23 miles on the Diva, 16.7 mph, 91 rpm avg cadence. Went out about 3 and home 1:23 later, as the shadows were lengthening. Another perfect autumn day.

Thanks. I didn't recognize the plaque, I just thought it would not have looked out of place in the Garden. I have ridden around in there a bit.

It's been raining every day this week in Seattle. I rode to work two days, and nearly got blown off the road last night by wind gusts while crossing a bridge; the sand was hitting my face like grit from a sandblaster.

I try to do at least 3 days a week on my bike, even in winter, but this morning I felt a bit of a chest cold coming back so I wimped out of a another rainy commute. I have a 20-mile ride scheduled in the dark and the rain for late Saturday afternoon, and then the weather should be better on Sunday, so I decided to take it easy today and take the car. We'll see how I feel tomorrow night and whether I'm really up to a dark, rainy journey.

Rode 37 miles during a 2 hour lunch hour. I traveled up and down the Chicago lakefront from the north end to Hyde Park. Temps were 52F under sunny skies with a nice 10 mph breeze from the SW.

Several faster riders to share the pull with. One guy on a Nishiki Cyclocross bike with knobbies was holding 19 to 22 mph. Another on a 14 speed Schwinn also kept a fast pace. Two idiots were passing people in a sandwich formation. They would then slow and re-pass the same riders.

Overall, a nice ride without the usual Lakefront crowds.

Also yes but not before I did a load of laundry and cleaned out the n-side gutters. The gutter part involved threading a ladder between the phone and electric lines (about a 5 ft. gap) about 20 ft. up. A tad nervous for me. the ride involved about 18 miles with no pie.

I'm about 40% done with a 10-mile trip. Home ->library (where I'm posting this)->town for lunch->back home.

57 F in late November in CT. Pretty sweet.

I'll probably do a brunch run tomorrow morning, as the weather is supposed to hold. Now that I'm back to working 9-5 - for now, at least - that will be all the riding I'll be doing until next weekend, though I can't count on "riding weather" that far out.

If I could scrape up the cash for some all-weather riding gear and to convert the POZhitFauxMTB standing in my garage into an icebike...

Kevin

18.23 miles in Sloan Canyon. Came home and enjoyed some roast beef, Havarti cheese and a cigar. What a great day to ride. Met some other riders and enjoyed the camaraderie.

Just over 20 miles this afternoon. 50+ degrees here in the Chicago area. Not bad for November 21!

First ride with a set of bib knickers I just got from Voler. Definitely the right apparel for rides in the cooler days (or warmer days if you are referring to November in the Midwest)

Tallied 65 miles-great day to ride in NC. It was around 60 degrees with winds 5mph or less. I passed several other groups of folks out riding as well.

Sunny and in the 50's today. After mulching the last of the leaves, rode for about an hour/20 miles. The computer was not cooperating so the time and distance aren't official. Still getting used to the new 'bent.

Cloudy and 50F with no wind to speak of. Went out with the intention of riding 60 km or so but ended up riding Burlington-Cambridge-Brantford-Burlington. All together it was 172km. Ride time was 6:17 with a 15 minute pie stop at a local fruit orchard in Waterdown. That may be the last century of the year and it felt great.

Today was Purely Functional Head Down, Heavy Load

Wally World and Ollie food produced a return trip load of 49 lbs for the return trip. It was a pleasant day, sunny and mid 50’s moderately heavy traffic. Total distance of 5.71 miles in just 30 minutes! Ollie, my dog, agreed that it was a good effort.

More shopping tomorrow. Weather permitting a 15-20 mile ride into the countryside beforehand.

Nice ride in Toronto today. Unseasonably warm at 11 degrees C. 90km ride along the famous Waterfront Trail. Lots of cyclists out and about enjoying unusually fine weather. Another good day or two and then it looks like a return to normal and ......ooh....winter.

It was ride your age birthday ride for me. 57 (one extra) miles from home to Davis for brunch then back through the orchards. Beautiful day, a little chilly and windy to start but downwind for most of the way home. Great day for a tandem toot.

11/21 got in 38 miles for only the third ride on roadie for the month. Temps were in the upper50's to lower 60's and wearing one base layer under a short sleeve jersey with arm warmers and a wind jacket with bibs and knee warmers it was just right!

Sloan Canyon in Southern NV, 18.3 miles including some sandy washes that killed me. Felt like I needed paddle wheels.

But look, I am in the heavily wooded area of the Vegas Valley, look at all that green.
