Fifty minutes at that temp deserves some accolades! Hey, are your boots insulated? My Dunhams have just 200g of thinsulate, but are consistently warm. (I just hit them with SnoSeal).

Just a 1 mile trip to downtown and back, but cold enough (2 degree windchill) to snap my front skewer.
That is the first time that has happened to me. At first, I thought someone had mis-appropriated the end.
I didn't notice this till I got home, and one hub axle end was out of the dropout. See how good my luck is?

These boots are insulated but not really good for this kind of cold. Last night was chiller.

Not sure what happened here; it's around 30 degrees, no breeze, suns out (sort of) and just one mile in my hands were really getting cold. I had my winter layers on with the winter gloves. Even my feet were ok. But I ended my ride at about half of what I wanted to do because my hands were getting numb! I'm hydrated, and eating reasonable, and have ridden with the same equipment in the same temp range before with no issues. Any ideas what happened?

Was a nice, bright and sunny day. Only drawback is that the temp was at 25F. So had to break out my usual 20-29F gear: four layers on the chest, two on the legs, balaklava, winter cap, booties, two pair socks. Getting tired of the multi layer thing and hoping that this is the last day below freezing. Here's to hoping...

Overcast but warm (53°-64°). Rode the Roubaix for 22.7 miles.Added 4.5 smooth miles to the normal bike path route down McCarran (from the bridge over the bike path just south of Gregg St.) to Mira Loma Park and back. Could have done without the wind, especially the 18mph gusts (head on) coming back from SenCen. But it was an overall good ride.

Just enough nip in the air for some arm warmers. Another huge group of riders showing up. Winter residents from up north and around the globe. Not as fast as Tuesday's ride because the racer guys went north and we went south. I was feeling pretty good again and did a few 26/28mph pulls when moving in a paceline but most of the 80 miles today were on my own. Thinking that Saturday will be a slower recovery day but longer mileage. If I wake up early I'll kit up and head out loaded with lights and going slow but plan on a 60 miler before sun-up. Stop back at home for a quick bite then to the LBS to hang in with the slower bunch and looking to get another 60+ in before making it back home for some more exterior house painting just like today. I figure the house deserves it after 29 years of sun, wind and rain.

One mile short of a birthday ride today. In training for my birthday when it does come.

10 degrees colder than yesterday but a lot less wind. I'll take the cold over the wind any day. At any rate 22.3 miles including 2 20 minute threshold intervals.

Jeez - you guys and your 60+60 milers. I feel elated when I do 20. Maybe early this spring or summer I'll get up enough gumption to ride to Carson City, but there's gravity in them thar hills.
21.0 miles in 1:48 on the Roubaix in overcast conditions. Gloomy but not windy. Rain this afternoon and tomorrow. Might have to take a day or two off .
hope no one is riding here:
2016: 525 Miles♂2013-16: 10,123 Miles
Allez 219.8/2651.6 · Roubaix 213.1/2745.5 · Sirrus 57.9/2092.9 · Trike 34.2/1617.3
The Past, The Present, and The Future walked into a bar. It was tense.

True. If you sometimes notice some unusual coldness in your extremities, you might want to take your (oral) temperature before you go out. Make sure your body temperature is at least 98 degrees, preferably 99. If it isn't, do some warm-ups, including the hands, feet, ankles and wrists. Even a slight variation in our sleeping arrangement; thermostadt, number of blankets, position can have an effect on our core temperature for the morning.

Out at 0222 for a slow and chilly 47 miles at 16.6mph average. Showered, ate a bit, clean kit on, popped on the lighter wheels and soon out the door to meet at the LBS for the group ride. Hoping for 65/75 more miles.

It is finished! No more snowrides or mountain biking! I have been set free, Hallelujah!!!
Took the Cannondale Criterium Series out on my winter course, wearing the same clothing except for riding shoes. Yes, shoes (not boots). It is a sunny 38deg with calm winds and mostly dry pavement. Still feeling encumbered by warm clothes I rode that course 13min faster. Spring conditioning is now in full effect. The 15 day forecast has 45-60F. Yeah, here we go.

Got in a nice and easy 54 miles this morning. Did the first 8 with my wife while waiting for my riding buddy to get there. Finished the rest of the ride with him. Another day of great weather with a nice wind to keep things just right.

No colonoscopy for me today so out for a 14 mile ride on a cool/cold, breezy but dry day. Supposed to be warmer Sunday so likely a tandem ride in my future.
