Speaking of cold, here is an old trick I did for summer football practices (years ago). It will take several attempts to get the timing right, but I recall if I put a plastic bottle of soda in the freezer at a certain time (I think it was 11 PM), the next day I could get it out, carry it with me, leave it laying around and then by about noon when we broke for lunch, I'd have this ice cold but almost 100% melted bottle to drink from. Oh, practice was at a field in CP, so there were no "facilities," food was brown bagged by all.

PET bottles with Gatorade tops.Never leaks, can squeeze the bottle, replacements anywhere, can open it with no teeth if need be,last forever, cost a dollar.

I just have your basic Canondale bottles but I have discovered this as far as the *cough* choking goes. If I point the bottle straight in and squeeze it shoots the water straight down my throat a bit too quickly. I've since found out, and this may be old news to most, but if I squeeze the water into my cheek area its a far better result.

Nalgene squeezable with one way valve and also has a removeable hinged dome cap. Keeps the mouthpiece clean if you ride on gunky roads. I use them with the cap on. But,you could take it off if you wish.
