Folder must go

It wasn't a bad deal at $100 but I had to fix a broken spoke, mis-routed cables, and a jammed gear cable. I also bought a new front wheel (and a couple cheap tires) before I succeeded repairing the existing wheel. It was somewhat useful hauling the Dahon as a ride from the car repair site(s) to my office. Several of my other full size bikes work even better. My wife and daughter refused adopt the folder. I also missed clamping the front steering post on the last ride and ending up following it to the pavement when it folded while starting off from a stop.

It's a nice one. A basic but proven model. I read ya on the family thing. I've a Helious. My wife insisted she HAD to have a folder, the lightest to be had but never allowed me to spend a half hour with her practicing how to fold and un-fold it.
They only take a minute to set-up once you've practiced. If I didn't get such a kick out of it, mine would be gone, that too might change.
You out-there now. You may want to parade it around the Folder Forum under any guise then perhaps sell it thru-here, an appropriate sub-forum. You've pleny of prospects near you I'd say.

Bikes: Several bikes, Road, Mountain, Commute, etc.

I really like my folder, not terribly different from yours. Mine is DaHon Curve 8-spd (internal hub gears); easy to fold and un-fold, fun to ride.

All that positive, still . . . I don't ride it as much as I expected to. Gonna keep it though, since it is fun to ride and I appreciate all the design work, i.e. clever engineering.

I have someone coming over on Saturday that will cover my expenses and a few extra bucks. I'd rather see the bike ridden. I currently have 8 bikes online, one 3 speed commuter project, and a planned all new carbon fiber PedalForce RS2 build. I have a previous project 9 speed double (nashbar frame), a Performance MTB (disk ready), and the folder to clear out.

Been working up to making the same decision. I bought a Downtube to carry in the car when I didn't feel like putting a rack on, and it's fine. Surprisingly good, in fact. But I've had it two years and probably ridden it a dozen times, and half of those came when I thought, "I really OUGHT to ride that folder..."

Are you sure you want to move this folder to the Recycle Bin?

Yes, that will release funds towards the PedalForce frame. I haven't found an upright bike [hybrid, folder, or other] that's fun to ride. I'd include MTB but I've never ridden one like it should be - off road and suspect that would be fun until I injured myself.

For now road , vintage road, single speed, and cyclcocross [as a road/light trail] with drop bars are my style bikes.

A bit off subject but it almost always goes that you get even a free bike and you end up putting a couple of hundred $$$ in the thing to get it in shape. Got what I thought was a pretty decent mt. bike for my daughter out of the trash for 0$ and by the time it is done $200 at least to get it safe and rideable.
